I can't believe I forgot to list "Secret of Mana" for the SNES! I loved that game to death and the entire last dungeon had me in tears... yeah I was young... but when you fought the girl's brother and then the final boss, and the ending That was the first game to make me cry heh

Dyluck wasn't her brother, he was her lover.

FFVII: Quadra-Magic materia hooked to KoTR materia. Cast... nap time.

"Powerful" RPG's... The Xeno series has/is/was a very powerful storyline for me. I myself dealt with a doubt in religion etc, about the time I was playing Xenogears, so for me, personally that will always be one of my favs.

FFVII was awesome... mother nature says "Eff U!" to man... pretty cool.

I loved FFIX's storyline. Freya's story, and Vivi's... love cheering for the little guy.

I saw a Legend of Dragoon post on page 2 or 3. That game was so made of win. The battle system was engaging, and the storyline was awesome. Watching your characters gain the dragoon abilities, the cutscenes look incredible for a PSOne game, and the final cutscene in itself make this a worthwhile RPG. While it didn't have the impact of losing Aerith, seeing Lavitz cut down, especially on the 2nd go through, was pretty powerful.

And for whatever reason, I never got rid of my copy of Chrono Cross. I'll still play it once in a while. Maybe it's the 72,000 different characters and their "specials" or the huge vast # of different scenes you can get depending on who is in your party, and somehow they tie up all nice and neat into a pretty powerful ending.

Holy Effing ninja edit: Shadow Hearts... part 1, bad ending... sad. Shadow Hearts II: "Good ending" sad. ):

Quadra Magic has no effect on KOTR.

W-Summon KoTR took long enough. Though I'm sure there was a way to quad cast KoTR, but it's been years since I last played VII.

Haven't played it in years, I just know there was some way to cast consecutive KoTR's, it was how I beat Ruby. Had used the W-Item glitch to give me a boatload of Megalixir's, and each round would be a bunch of KoTR casts, some Bahamut Zero casts, and a megalixir thrown up.

It could indeed be W-Summoned. I expect that the only reason it can't be Quadra Magicked is because the programmers knew that doing so would require the HP<->MP materia, which the player might not have.

Of course, Counter O=O Mime is a much more efficient way to get the same basic effect, with the advantage of not burning through the player's Megalixer stockpile.

My vote would have to be Lufia II. I've played through it 7 or 8 times since I got it waaaaaayyyyy back when, and every time, the ending has had me in tears.

Re: Most Powerful game you have ever played

FF3 (aka 6) for SNES was the most kickass game I've ever played. Me and my buddy would play it at his house and set up 2 player (yes it had that) mode. When General Leo died we were both hardcore pissed off. The ending of the game was completely awesome too, seeing all the different characters and their story lines. Locke using the Phoenix to revive his girlfriend (I can't remember her name) for just a minute was also pretty emotional. Also, as this was before every game had a complete FAQ on the internet, we could not figure out how to do the bum rush to save our lives. It was a really complex series of buttons. Finally, I realized instead of using the diagonal as the game told you too, you could just use the previous directional button. Using it for the first time was just awesome.

    Rather than Final Attack KOTR
    I did

    Final Attack: Phoenix (mastered)
    Final Attack: Ultima (mastered)
    MP Turbo: Ultima (mastered)
    Counter(blue): Ultima (mastered)
and whatever the name of the materia is that lets you absorb MP back based on the dmg you do with the spell : Ultima (mastered)
    The same with Phoenix (mastered)
HP<>MP switch and some random other materia that I can't remember

The ones I listed there were the important ones.

Basically, I'd just start a fight then go away and come back victorious.
My other 2 characters had similar kinds of setups like Tifa's where she'd cover and then counter 7 times and something else I forgot...

But basically I had my characters set to autobattle and my autobattle setups beat everything except Ruby, and depending on how lucky I'd get with him not removing his tentacles from the ground it would work on him too.

I beat Ruby and Emerald pretty easily using limit breaks and normal attacks as my only means of damage. And I was well under the max level (like 80 or something). I found that stacking magic evade made that kill all attack emerald has miss most of the time, or at least keep one of my party members alive. Also, I only used multi-hit limit breaks. Cid's highwind, Yuffie's LB, and Cloud's omnislash. It beats watching KOTR over and over.

Kingdom Hearts - Loved the storyline and at the same time it was an amazing game.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion - Storyline wasn't so bad, but the countless traveling to city to city, questing and etc. was so much damn fun! I remember my first file I had well over 200 hours of playtime on.

His "kill all" attack was based off of how many Materia you had equipped, wear less, take less damage <_<

FFVI had the best moments of any rpg for me: (Spoiler tag due to important moments of the game story depicted)

[spoiler:2ohykuya]- Kefka poisoning the water of that city.
    - The Opera with Celes as Maria.
    - The end of the world.

It completely missed me. Does wearing less materia make it miss a lot? I don't know honestly.
