Vent problems

This has been working for years and has suddenly stopped.

The Monitor and Test works.

I use a Hot key for push to talk and in the setup, the program recognizes each button I try.

But as soon as I exit the setup it stops working. The green light doesn't even light.

It was working just 10hrs ago (before I hit the sack) I haven't done anything different other then turn my computer on and off.

Anyone familiar enough with vent to troubleshoot? Everything seems to work until Im out of setup and trying to talk.

Ive tried everything. I mean EVERYTHING from reinstall to clicking all the options. The mic works, the sound card works, the setup actually allows me to "test" and "monitor" and appears to work.

The problem seems to be in the program itself. The light refuses to go green so i can talk.

tried other servers? firewall? try team speak, any plain InstanMessage software?

Tried other servers, same thing on vent. I dont have any teamspeak servers available to try.

assuming you did, but you reinstalled from a freshly downloaded copy right?, or some olde backup?

You probably already did this but when Vent lags for me I have to go into setup and click DirectSound off and then back on again. Before i do that Vent doesnt work at all either, no green light or anything. You likely already tried it but works for me.

Is this remotely affiliated to your problem?

Could help if you say you can't speak on the server, but the sound is being recognised in the setup

The one and only thing not working on this entire program is the actual channel. Every other program, the setup, the mic, the sound card. It all works. I enter the vent servers w/ or w/o hot keys, direct sound clicked/unlclicked it does nothing. I can hear everyone just fine.

Ive googled, ive searched on the vent, Cant seem to find anyone who has even had this problem before....

The only thing I can suggest is to signup and post on the vent forums and to hope you get an answer, seems like a pretty remote problem
