Patriots are going to bust. They're too good on paper. Randy Moss will get injured (I doubt his attitude will show its ugly head, just yet), and Stallworth never seems to find playing time (I still hate the Eagles front office for letting him go, but if he cant be on the field, why give him a paycheck).

Adalius Thomas was a huge addition for the Patriots, make no mistake of that, but consider that the Chargers are returning with a more experienced Philip Rivers-despite the fact that Norv "The Retard" Turner is coaching them. Oh, and, L.T. And for the Broncos, to add Dre Bly to an extremely athletic secondary (Darrent Williams R.I.P.) should be illegal. The Broncos are most definately the fastest defense on the field, and I can guarantee you an underrated corner like Dre Bly will hardly make the same mistakes the talented Williams did during his career (i.e. Reggie Wayne blowing past him for 3 T.D.s). And remember Travis Henry rushing for 1200 yards last year despite splitting carries and playing behind a mediocre Titans offensive line with virtually no passing game? Yea. I'm drafting Travis Henry in fantasy, is all I can say.

Then there are other teams like the Cleveland Browns -- they are building talent to be a potential playoff team, but honestly, the AFC is so packed I highly doubt they'd even be within 2 games of a wild card bid. However, they're certainly a team that will cause trouble. They will, however, suck and suck hard if both Lewis busts and Quinn being an even worse estimation-something that is likely to happen.

The Baltimore Ravens? The most tenacious defense in the AFC last year returns with a big addition to the offense-Willis McGahee. If McGahee stays healthy, not only will he provide the Ravens with a much needed rush offense to allow McNair to get the ball to third-year receiver Clayton, or reliable Todd Heap, but you have to consider the time they can give their defense to rest if McGahee can churn out tough yards-something we know he is capable of doing.

The Steelers, despite coaching changes, are still a team that will certainly be vying for a playoff spot. I still think Ben Roethlisburger-as much as I like him-is overrated, but with Willie Parker in the backfield and a defense guided by Foote, the Steelers can never be considered too far behind the "best team" of the AFC.

Don't forget Jacksonville, who always has spurts of stellar play. And the Titans. Yes, the Madden Curse will get Vince Young, it's just a matter of time. However, take this in and remember it: anyone who said "Vince Young carried the Titans last year" is an idiot who did not understand the impeccable performances the defense gave them. If anything, the defense carried the Titans to almost getting a wildcard spot last year--although Vince Young's confident play certainly helped.

Who else am I forgetting? Right, the Cincinnati Bengals. Fuhgetaboutit. The only question mark I have is how well Rudi will rush without having arguably the best offensive linesman on that team to return.

The Colts will not win the AFC, and neither will the Patriots. The Colts have no defense (and that doesn't mean Peyton can't get them to the playoffs, but that he can't win the AFC or AFC Championship), the Patriots are just too good on paper. The only thing stopping the Broncos from being the best team in the AFC (at least on paper) is a strong quarterback.

This isn't baseball; adding pro-bowlers to upgrade your team is a good thing. Looking good on paper translates to looking better on the field in the NFL.

I hate the Pats, but I will admit if I had to bet my million bucks on a team today, it would be them.

If the Patriots stay healthy, there's no question they have the best team in the NFL--but having the best team doesn't always translate to a superbowl ring. There are so many players coming off injuries--to be honest I think Wes Welker will be the only receiver in the bunch that will stay healthy all year. Not to mention, Laurence Maroney is coming off shoulder surgery. Have the Patriots done something with nothing before? Time and time again, but that's not reason enough to chalk them down as winning the AFC.

I've lived in the DC-Metro area for about 8 years, and I hate the Redskins like none other (Vikings + Eagles only, please). Every year, I have to sit through annoying fans raving about how they just shelled out the GDP of an African nation to get some overpriced, out-of-prime free agent and how that automatically means they'll go to the super bowl. Given my hatred for that kind of talk, it's easy for me to dismiss the Patriots as having the definitive AFC Champion team. If you recall last year, noone considered New Orleans to make it to the NFC Championship. And not many people considered it to be Peyton's year--if my memory serves me correctly, a large number of people had the Chiefs representing the AFC and the Panthers the NFC. The amount of parity in the league, and the immensely well-coached, skilled teams in the AFC, make it extremely difficult for me to accept the Patriots as the run-away team from that division.

I can't wait to see Da Bears in action either. I am a huge Purdue fan so I follow Kyle Orton closely, not to mention the insane year that Devin Hester had last year. I know he is getting more touches by getting reps on WR as well. I am also interested to see what Chris Leak is going to do even if it is with the practice squad. They live in the same neighborhood still and his older brother C.J. (TB Buccaneers) and I both went to Independence, played summer Basketball and Track together when Chris was much younger.

Yeah I have the same feeling that the Pats will fall short of the stellar preseason sights, but Brady has done more with less so you can't count them out. I think injuries are the only thing that could keep the Pats out of the playoffs at least. Or maybe Tom's baby mama drama.

The Ravens offensive acquisitions the last two years is quite possibly the second scariest thing in the afc (right behind the pats and all they do). Baltimore that scores offensive points is bad news bears for anyone not a fan.

Heh I think the curse is already getting at Vince, didn't he have to sit out the first preseason game for "breaking the rules"? Its an omen that Vince and Pacman will be found drunk driving in a stolen escalade with three dead hookers who od'ed on steroids in the trunk all holding unregistered firearms filled with hollow point bullets.

Um... yeah Peyton Manning and everything about the Indianapolis Colts infuriates me and so I predict the colts stumbling out the starting blocks and then dying.

Im hoping for a good year for Jay. The last five games of last year hopefully got rid of his NFL jitters and he's ready to go. He looked great in the game vs the 49ers. With Stokely along side Javon and Rod and Daniel Graham he should be good in the air. Henry up the gut won't hurt either. The Linebackers are the only thing im wary about. Without Al Wilson it just seems empty, but with oour draftees Crowder and Moss hopefully no one will get that far.

Yeah, the AFC looks exciting this year, to say the least.
