Well if you get to 22, it's probably worth spamming guillo for damage instead of cata for haste.

Dread spikes is cool too, lets you mow through at least 2 colibri without really needing much healing.

Re: Ridill vs Mandau vs MNK/WAR

Speaking of only the Colibri camp, I can say most of my damage comes from regular melee strikes. As a THF melee damage is much closer to half of my overall contribution than for other jobs (Other jobs do a higher percentage of their damage via DoT). I've got very few parses there because I don't save as many as I used to (I haven't changed gear in a while so not much is different between one and another). I am also afraid to post anything that would cause any party members to be judged (so don't judge these guys, just look at what their damage contribution type was).

I can say that the stronger the regular melee members I party with, the better I will do as a THF. Without even considering the loss of food, the TP wipe on someone serving as the DoT monster will eventually allow me to pull ahead with WS if I'm not leading them through normal melee strikes. A very powerful MNK or WAR may keep enemy focus, it's exactly what is needed as a THF to position for WS stacking. You have to have an idea of the enemy's facing direction to position. Slightly under half of my damage as a THF comes from WS, so it's more important for me to retain TP for WS use than it is for other jobs (Maybe 60/40 for THF and 70/30 or 80/20 for other melee). THF Combat style (Fullstacker, splitter, standing DE/EV user) also will change the way the parse looks.

I would have just edited out the other players entirely and shown you where the damage from just myself comes from, but I'm at work =/. Most of what I inflict is via regular melee strikes, total WS damage trails it by 50K in the parse below.

~57% of my damage is via normal meleeing
~43% of my damage is via WS

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/Ping2.JPG

I'm not interested in elaborating on equipment or situation for the other two.

The WAR had 72% of his damage coming from normal meleeing.
The MNK had 76% of his damage coming from normal meleeing.

Things that will spike a damage contribution in a Mandau THF's favor on a parse are
    1. Enemy overkill - WS DMG exceeds HP on a 1x WS, artificially jacking parse percentages (4% return MS).
    2. SA can proc 3x DMG - You perform the same SA as always, but the strike issues the relic increased damage proc. I checked the Wiki to see if this had been fixed and someone got to it already. =)

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/1...%20Critsig.JPG

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/1...bri%20Crit.JPG

    3. Engage time - Even when animations are spell/song/ja locked, the engage time is shorter on THF than my other jobs.
    4. Forcing the target of Feather Tickle - While the WS component is only 20-30% of the total damage the other melee jobs output, it's still a handicap to the other jobs.
    5. Pierce weak enemies - 25% DMG bonus to weapons that inflict piercing damage

Relic Bow SAM/RNG may be able to pull ahead, but it would be through denial of a solid TA recipient, TP build deficieny due to movement, and WS deadends by others into air resulting in TP wipes. SAM/RNG has an extremely heavy portion of it's damage coming from WS and Barrage and doesn't count on the "TP Build" phase as much as a regular melee would. It also has a 1x WS (overkill) and can have relic DMG procs internal to Barrage (don't have the example SS of the 6000 Barrage right now, lol).

I will admit, I have not partied with a MNK/WAR on Greater Colibri and would love to see how fast these things can be run through via Counter tanking/DD. Without even counting WS, I'm guessing that the DoT inflicted would be huge.

It also goes in the same order as average WS damage, what's your point exactly? And note that the party had 2 BRDs, therefore they were probably all using meat (or nothing).

Every melee job with the best equipment for their job needs to be using meat.

You'd see an across the board increase on hit rate of at least 10% which leads to more WS and comparable DoT.

I noticed that too, I was thinking it might have been Mamool Ja Staging Point camp. Puks can do that to your accuracy

It's nyzul pre-wivre. Looking back it would probably have been better served mar/mad. Madrigal back then was unheard of--this was back before Nyzul was well-known.

That's using basically the same setup - 292 H2H skill + 43 ACC with meat (Coeurl Subs, sometimes HH Pie) and a BRD singing either dual march, or march + minuet. I see a lot of people (not so much monks) boasting 85-95% accuracy - with meat... are they bullshiting, or is it just a tendency for monks to have lower accuracy? I'm certain it isn't my gear, since I have as much or more accuracy than most warriors, ninjas, thieves, etc.
Most jobs are pretty different when it comes to how easily they can get the acc cap. However of the jobs I have MNK tends to be the least accurate with meat. More because of my gear choices though, there is definitely room for obtaining more acc on MNK if I wanted to.

Kaiten WS average in a merit PT typically averages at about 1k even in an ideal PT, with a range of maybe 950 to 1.1k.

And actually I'm a little surprised as to how low your average melee damage per hit is. I think some people were saying that they thought you were eating meat but I never saw you say it for sure, but if that's not the case then it doesn't make sense considering with an 88 base damage weapon I'm usually at an average of 170-185 damage per hit. Scythe having 102 base damage it should be able to eclipse that without much trouble. I know that the 3% proc isn't as strong on Scythe as it is on GK but that shouldn't make that much of a difference.

    wafik's average ws is about 1200 when archain is 1700 >.> , why such a difference ?

yea i noticed my melee avg was a bit low , i dunno why, on other parse its more around 195~ , but when you re doing 170 its as /WAR ?

Archain had 2 BRDs in that party for one thing. But given that the wafik parse was taken pre-wivre, I think that was before wafik had some of his hecatomb.

1400-1600 seems pretty normal for me nowadays, assuming we're not fighting any wivres.
