    Skydiving

Made a topic in spam a while back just because I was interested in the sport and wanted to see if any BG members had gone/were curious as well. This week, however, I spent 30-40 hours at my local dropzone getting certified to solo jumpmaster and wanted to put a topic in general because I know it attracts more traffic. Has anyone else experienced the thrill?

Pics from my last dive: weeeeeeeeeeeee

I wanna sky dive so bad =/

I highly doubt obese people are allowed (450+ is my weight if you are wondering)

I weigh like 300, I'd do it as long as an expert assured me the 'chute could handle it.

    Re: Skydiving

I went skydiving after I graduated from college a few years ago, I shit my pants (for real). I thought it was going to be fun, but once I jumped, the only thing going through my mind was "I bet my parachute is fucked up." It wasn't of course, but I thought I was going to die and it was not fun lol, it was the scariest fucking thing in the world.

So if you are a nervous person like me, and right after you jump the only thing you can think about is whether or not you'll survive, stay far away from skydiving.

My brother went a few weeks ago and he weighs about 225. He said he had a buddy go who was 6'5 and pushing 300 lbs. I suppose they have different chute sizes for different people.

The info I found said they'd take up to 275lb's but would charge nearly double. >_>

Yea, they do allow fatties into harnesses but only up to a certain limit and they definitely charge extra. It truly is an amazing experience though, even the simple level 1 tandem jump was incredible. If you enjoy that one, get your solo jumper certification, front flip exits are so much fun :D

Yeah, looks cool indeed. Wonder how it feels ._.; Anyways, one of my friends is into skydiving, and she has invited me a couple of times... Is not that I don't trust her, but I dunno >< I guess I need to start with the simulator and THEN try it even if I'm strapped to her >_>

It feels like floating in very turbulent water.

    Re: Skydiving

I had loads of fun when I went skydiving. I thought I was going to get sick but I didn't at all. (except for when the fucker strapped to my back decided to spin us in circles while we were parachuting down)

Only thing I didn't like was when we were falling, I had a little trouble breathing because the air was like, blowing past my nose and mouth. (aerodynamics, don't ask me lol)

That is proably the reason why i will never go sky diving by myself. I might want to try the one where your straped to someone, but only if i can get shit faced on the way up/

Go for it. My first tandem was what got me interested in the sport seriously.

    Re: Skydiving

Did a jump which was the best experience of my life, but that was just a standard tug cord latched onto place.

Fully intended to go onto skydiving after but the place was too far away, and at the time I didn't drive. Really should get back into that again >.>

The weird thing is I absolutely hate heights, yet jumping out of a plane is the best feeling ever.

I'd like to try it just because it seems like such an awesome thrill.

But I know this is how I'd feel.
