1st. The leader advocated Game > RL, when he himself is unemployed seemingly. Then complains to the OP when he can't attend, cause the OP has work.
2nd. Is now trying to reason with BG saying that RL > Game, when he's already been screenshotted. Twice. Saying that Game > RL.

If I was the OP, I'd start shit up too, people need to know what the leader is like before they get dicked out of more gear.
I'd give the leader the benefit of the doubt that everyone has to make a living and can't play 24/7. I'll re-read the convo a 3rd time, but I don't see where he specifically says the game > rl.

What I see the leader saying is that the op isn't fit for the ls because their schedule conflict, and he's more interested in members who're free during event times. And unless they have events 24/7/365... I don't see how he's saying game > RL.

example: if events are something like 7pm mon,wed,fri..... why keep someone in the ls who's work schedule is something like 3pm-10pm.
... if you have someone who works from 9am-5pm and occasionally gets held up past 7 at work, then i think that's np... but once again, why keep someone who's work schedule keeps them from attending a majority of the events

He doesn't say FFXI > RL word for word, but basically says that if OP can't make events cause of work it's not fair, and should make them because it's not helping other people. It's implied.

Smartest post I read on BG to date. After all, you can't get time/effort back.

To the OP, be glad you're free from the shell. It's like most shells, corrupted and without sucking the leader's ass you clearly wont get anything but what they'd allow you to get.

That's sadly how alot of end game shells are.

as much as I hate crybaby who always pull the RL card to miss event and accuse everyone else of no life, ls leader is definitely at fault. point system are to avoid these silly fights. it appears the "line" for the items the op desires are not 100% based of points?? but you still keep track?

having non RaEx item as "LS property..." LOL good luck. the only way you can keep mages is their fear of having their items they EARNED taken away, possibly sold? "hey i know you worked very hard for that earring, but since it is not Ex we are going to sell it if the LS breaks? oh don't worry about me everything I wanted is Ex! :} "

True, but there's no obligation to give it back. they can kick, cry, bitch, moan, and spead drama, but fact is, and I quote a GM on this for when i went through this:

"When you both agree on a trade, you both denounce ownership of the item."

So if you, say, trade A Haubergon for a Scorpion Harness, you both denounce ownership of your respective item in exchange for the item you exchange for the trade.

Just that simple. don't want the guy to one day take his earned items elsewhere? Don't give anyone anything. Yeah, that'll get you far in life, and FFXi.

but honest people would still fear having their reputation trashed in dishonest means. though they did agree to the terms of the LS, that does not mean that that makes the terms right and they do not account for something such as "what if the ls breaks?" ... in which case this person suggests selling the item and letting the person who EARNED it keep it as just one of many possibilities.

if it did come back to it and the leader ask the holder to relinquish this item, and the person refuses, the drama would be insane. XD it seems the leader only made the allowance for giving up the item when attendance lacks (read: when i feel like it?) and not in the long term. i think it goes without saying to expect a non-ex item back to the LS is insane, almost as insane as giving said item to a person who has not earned it in the first place.

but to say "ok, because what you want is ex, no matter how hard you work it will never be yours." is madness to me. was your leader going after any of the non-EX items, or is he a melee? lol

What kind of fucking moron joins a shell where the regular scheduled events don't suit their RL and still expects to get an equal shot at loot?

Re: Why people get kicked from Uber.

Honestly the whole RL vs FFXI argument is kind of stupid obviously FFXI is not as important as real life...

However, the argument that just becasue you have stuff to do in real life means your somehow entitled to loot before people who play more is retarded..

Especially in a point system..just wow...your never gonna have points if you don't play..

Like it or not..end game activities can be likened to working.....if you work 5 hours a week at 5 bucks an hour vs someone who works 40 hours a week at 5 bucks an hour...who makes more money? Do you somehow deserve the same pay working 5 hours as someone who works 40? You would NEVER make that claim in real life, why are you making it in a game...where getting stuff involves work as well...

A fag looking to leech at the expense of active members. Sounds to me like OP deceived the leader about his commitment to the LS. "Could have been there" is not the same as "you were there." If everyone decided to pull the "could have been there," no LS could ever kill HNMs. This is the reason why most LS reward members based on factors like term with LS and how active that member is with LS events.

If you're going to bitch about your real life interfering with your ffxi, go play another game. You deserve to get kicked from any decently run LS pulling a stunt like this. Clearly, this LS has enough members around that it can afford to not rely on leeches like you to get things done. Therefore, you got kicked LOL

Now before I even speak, I know: GTFO, U R STUPID, and all that other jazz...

I played in the HNM scene quite a while ago, I enjoy myself somes Dynamis, Limbus, Salvage, Nyzul, etc. so I still do my thing to keep up with the times... but I have to wonder a few things.

Is this really how HNMLS's run, in the sense that there are 'lines' for individual items? I thought the reasoning behind a point system was that you build up points from any event attended or assisted in, and then you can spend those points towards anything that pops up that an individual may want. The more i think about it, I could see it as possible on really hot items, but I mean.. (and this ties in with my other question) why bother removing someone from a list without their own intent? Just seems a little silly to me.

And finally, was this really and truly only started by a question about being removed from the love torque list?

Either way, I would have joined another LS to begin with. If i'm in line for some multi-mage item, and a trip-happy BRD item drops that's gonna go to some crudhead retard, I'd like to be able to abuse my points where I would like.

Odds are though, I just don't comprehend how that scene is, and that in reality it works how I imagine it should.

Re: Why people get kicked from Uber.

Forget his bizarre system for a second. Anyone who can attend ALL should definitely be more rewarded than those who are occupied with work/school/etc. I'm sorry, but you're not exactly contributing to the LS when you're not at an event, are you? If you can't make, you're not getting "attendance points" for it. Simple as that. If you're at an event and something urgent came or it came up just before the event, tell the other leaders you can't make and I'm sure they'll understand.

I can somewhat agree with the leader on this that if your schedule doesn't go hand-in-hand with your FFXI, then find yourself another LS or try to arrange your schedule.

You're not the only one, but you're in the minority in this neck of the woods... if you want more sympathizers go to alla or KI.

The reason that LS is doomed to failure is not because they're claiming items as LS property (which is LOL...Kirin Osode, wut?) and not because they have a point system.....its because the leader thinks this game is "work."

You see.....if you have to put in work for everything you do in a game, its not a game any more and you should probably take some long, deep breaths and slowly read that thing right before you log in to FFXI that has the option "Accept" or "Decline."

You guys aren't having fun and instead are working like its a job.....and while there maybe a couple things in-game that everyone dislikes doing, they probably find it fun in some dimension. It seems to me the leader in this case is a child who can dedicate 24/7 to game-play and favors his mates who do the same!

Also, seeing how this is a sea/limbus ONLY linkshell... what do people do who have sky/HNMLSes? They get the boot, too? I know I'd rather be camping faf with my HNMLS before I go off in sea hunting some pop items. I suppose if they play 24/7 like the other kiddies, they won't get booted because they're the only ones who can most directly relate with the douchey leaders...

    I disagree!

The "reward" should simply be that they get to be at all events.

If the LS is one where everyone is having fun and likes each other then you should be pleased to congratulate your friends who just got home from work or school and won some great item! If someone in your LS only wants items and doesn't care about anyone else and doesn't make efforts to /befriend anyone then they shouldn't be there anyways...thats what the /breaklinkshell command is for.

People who attend ALL events should actually get LESS items because they're always online and thus have more skill/experience and don't need the tiny stat boosts as much as someone less blessed by excessive /playtime..but thats beside the point -- everyone in the LS should have an equal chance at items! Or else you're not working as a team and people are going to always be whining and bitching...

This game is like work; you put in the time and you'll reap the benefits in the end, with some exceptions. Our time spent on this game is an investment for the items that we'll possibly get, and it becomes sorta like work. As odd as it may appear to you, some people actualy enjoy work and don't see it as a chore.

The leaders just has a lot of time on his hands and can make more raids. Should the ones who can attend have the same lotting rights as the ones who don't? I would hope you know the answer to this. If you can devote yourself to a LS for most of your time, then by all means do, you'll be rewarded in the end. But you don't show up to a lot of raids and only have "11 points", I'm sorry but I would have kicked you as well.

Not only are you a fucking retard, but you're a fucking retard. You're saying that even though I show up to more shit than my members I should "pass" it for them because they spent less time than I did? God, I hope you're seriously joking...
