    Sorry, FTFY

I'd really like to see equip of RNG/NIN that can hit Kirin consistently without any accuracy buff (sushi or preludes)
    Weapons: Kriegs/Franny/E-Bow
    Head: O-Hat
    Body: Osode usually
    Hands: Crimson/S.Kote
    Rings Baha +1
    Neck: Hope Torque/Breeze
    Waist: Scouts
    Legs: Scouts
    Feet: Scouts

I have no problems hitting Kirin /nin while eating Curry or Subs. I have a little difficulties when I go /war because I drop both axes for a Vulcan Staff (Lose what... 12 ranged acc?) but not so bad that I need to eat sushi to hit/Ws on Kirin. I do however wait til I get alot more TP before I WS.

Yet from the other rangers ive done kirin with.... a main problem ive seen is alot of them trying to Side/Slug while kirin is running away from them, usually leaving a huge range gap for the weaponskill which usually doesnt help on landing it.
    Did you get prelude?

I got much more acc than you but still have problem hitting Byakko and Suzaku (not Kirin, but the eva is about the same when you impose acc penalty)
My linkshell doesnt "Respect" the rangers like other HNMLS ive been in. We always have 2-3 bards at kirins, but never ever have one in the ranger party. They rather stick 2 bards in the blm party for reasons god only knows. So no preludes.... ever

I dont have any problems hitting Suzaku, but byakko is a real problem for me.... even with switching to AF body instead of Osode. I'll usually land the first sidewinder on byakko.... then its just a guessing game if i'll hit the next ones.

I have about the same Racc you use, so I guess its relative on our acceptable accuracy.

    Weapons: Kreg/Franny
    Head: Ohat
    Neck: PCC
    Body: Osode
    Hands: S kote
    Waist: Scout
    Legs: Scout
    Feet: Scout
    Back: Amemet+1
    Ring: 2xMermans

I use to share party w/ Monks swapping in so while their getting MND etudes, I might not have buffs (plus I'm always running away ). Anyways, its been about a year since I did Kirin, so the unnerf probably helps.

    @VZX:

Suzaku isn't too hard to hit, assuming you've got high-end gear and capped merits. A lot of his "evasion" comes from lazy/crappy BRD's who won't dispel his EVA buff, or get resists. Byakko? Screw that. Either get a BRD for prelude or pop sushi--THF EVA bonus traits on enemy mobs are just damn broken.

I plan on being a full-time RNG, for a while I'm certain I can only have some of the better AH gear, but it's nice to know a well-geared RNG can push high damage like that. On an off note though, I thought temperance (not sure if that's the sea god, fairly sure though) became immune to piercing damage? Or does that not work akin to something like perfect dodge not working on ranged attacks? And judging by what Naramaska said (i believe i missed the merit point cap raising too apparently) the cap for combat is now 16 total, assuming +16 meant skill which would equate to 8 merits in each. For any RNGs out there, is Culv+1 and cannon shells really worth it for some fights? Or will I be slinging away with Ebow for the majority of my RNG career?

If you're going to be rng only eventually you'll want a culv+1, don't buy one before you bought every other important equip piece though, nq culv is fine as well. I got culv+1 and regret it because I almost never use it.

I was wondering if suzaku pop with eva buff already or it'll only up after it uses feather barrier ?

All I remember using full racc gear and meat (w/o other buff), my hit rate on suzaku is crap from beginning to end (as well as other melee too)

I think we didn't have that either. But I don't think that's good enough to improve the hit rate to "good" region. (Gravity is -10 evasion)

8 Archery merits and all the RACC gear that any good RNG had Im not satisfied with my RACC% using meat w/o prelude. I find Red Curry, /WAR, 1 Prelude, 1 Minuet to be optimal.

    Re: Ranger Efficacy

Don't know about other stuff, but a RNG friend sometimes comes to help out in Nyzul Isle when we have a static member on vacation, and he fits into the party very well. High damage, good spike damage, and good ability to stay out of trouble - lots of pluses and pretty much no downside.

Nyzul puts the emphasis on speed, and a well-geared and smart RNG is a very good party member under those conditions.

    Hope this helps.
