I would be nice to have a new opening movie. Or maybe one at the end of a mission line.

Its been like hundreds of game years and somehow the Great War was still the same amount of time ago...You make valid points (that i overlooked lol) but technically it is STILL 20 years after the war so... its possible for him to finish promies...![]()
in the RoZ manual they talking about the Tavnazian Marquisate (sp) hiding out in Norg, which leads me to think the Tenshodo always knew about Tav? idkOriginally Posted by Pergo
it's been forever since I did CoP, but I thought it was just the general population who found about Tavnazia after that one mission >_> and Mildaurion re-opened trading with Jeuno directly
That'd be amusing if a "past mission" took you back there to Tavanzia to change part of the outcome of the war for the better.
Not that I think there wouldn't be a nice big explosion either way, but still.
Pretty sure Battle of Jeuno happens before the fall of Tavnazia.Originally Posted by Pergo

But seriously.. where are the scans? ; ;
I have a feeling something we do in the past will open up a world event that changes the future and possibly allows us to have standard walking access to safehold.
I wish upon wishes that we could have a dynamis-realtav, like the city split into several sections, once you defeat them all you get a chance to fight the avatar of the lightbringer and possibly bring it into your LS as a useful weapon
mmmm ideas
the chance of a world event in FFXI is about on par with the chance of entertaining/rewarding PvP in FFXI
Oh nice, so we are getting a world event?Originally Posted by Priran

if you think ballista is entertaining, you seriously need to take a break from FFXI and go play something else with actual PvP.Originally Posted by BRP
I'm not even going to touch "rewarding", a fucking title is not a reward
We've had this conversation before, it was something like "baww my asuran fists don't one-shot people".Originally Posted by Priran
congratulations on proving ballista is entertaining and rewardingOriginally Posted by BRP
clap clap clap for you
Oh, uh, plenty of people do Ballista and enjoy it, mainly 60 cap(and JPs). I don't think I need to provide proof?
if I asked 500,000 people to stick their dick in a blender for 5 bucks, I could probably get a couple takers. Is it entertaining? Is it rewarding? Not for them.
So your argument is "Ballista is not fun for anyone because I don't find it fun"? Oh, very convincing. Here, have a Beak Necklace.
I loved the hell out of running around with a great axe in ballista, tagging along with a monk, Asuran Fists > Steel Cyclone > Darkness is hands down the funniest way to own someone short of killing charmed people/killing someone while charmed.
Anyone remember the Bum/Pir/Tim fads? Went 2/3 back then, except noone saw Pup coming. What now? One Blu/Cor useful job, and two "wtf, where did that come from?" jobs. >.<
You'd have a point if it weren't such an overwhelming minority that played Ballista. There's a level 60 match being played right now, and on my server, 13 people are playing, not even 1% of the server. Meanwhile, on MMOs like WoW, nearly everyone participates in the PvP.Originally Posted by BRP
So if I spend over an hour of my time, what do I get? Some piddly EXP, points to use for temporary items in ballista, and if I'm lucky (or just the only person of a certain job that plays ballista) a medal with a title. But if I won the Olympiad in Lineage II, I'd get exclusive abilities, equipment, weapons, items I couldn't find anywhere else, a chat channel reserved for myself, and a glow around my character.
Ballista would probably be more popular if it offered some kind of assault-style point reward system for purchasing gear/items. Although it would probably be too easy to exploit if they didn't plan it well (you let me kill you for points today, you get to kill me tomorrow, etc).
I really hope they post some magazine scans soon, this is one hell of a derail.
