It is, just once every 2 hours.

This basically confirms Time Mage, a job that most people thought would be a RDM knock off. I'm really looking forward to how they'll surprise us (if at all.)

Hmm, ima laugh when they make it another pup, give it cure 1 and call it a day.

I find it hard to believe nobody(well this magazine if it turns out to be true) has managed to leak expansion info, if its one thing SE can do, its keep update/expansion info a secret .

If you were to tell me all about CoP and ToAU back when there was only RoZ I would of laughed in your face and tell you it'd never happen

Time mage, chemist, and mystic knight, I'm telling you. (Although I think we might only get 2 new jobs.)

This is one of the smartest things said in any speculation thread ever.

Just because we can't imagine a way for something to not be broken doesn't mean that SE can't also. Thats why they are paid to program the game and we just post in forums about it. No matter how smart people think they are and how dumb they think SE is, this fact will always remain.

Blah. 5 bucks says the job uses something like horology from FFXII.

If its true, then I think Time Mage will have to win most ridiculous AF of any job award. From what I remember of how their previous incarnations looked, it would be quite hard to take them seriously.

I think you forgot about the first "Ze Queen" comments on PUP AF when it was introduced

is anyone else 'not really feelin' time mage.... even with the reasonable amount of new spells they could add... most of them seem borderline unoriginal (like slight changes to what we already have), and the stuff that is original seems like it would never be reliable enough to work well in endgame without breaking the game.

    I can't wait.

I hope that Haste II has a MND or INT modifier so that not any old gimp can make use of it and it be an easy whore job, like base 15% (Haste 1 speed) and then +1% Haste for every 5 MND or INT over your base for example

I'd cut myself if I had to macro in equipment every time I want to cast haste...

Re: Time mage in JP mag?

The only love I have for Time Mage is the laughable attempts zammers make at "how the job could work". Each and every concept being loaded with spells and abilities so overpowered the Time Mage would be preferable over bards for buffs, over BLMs for nukes, and over Ridill WARs for Melee. Crap like "Demi" which no matter how you look at it, could NEVER be implemented into the game successfully. hi2uRuinousOmen.

On another note, I for the life of me cannot find anything on that site that talks about Time Mage. Period. Maybe my Japanese isn't good enough or maybe I skipped something over, but I've been surfing through that page for the last hour and I just can't find anything that talks about Time Mage being a new confirmed job.

Re: Time mage in JP mag?

    i feel that:

TIM would be to RDM as
    COR is to BRD

if you give them teleports... it takes away unique factors of a whm.
if you give them warp,warp2,escape... it takes away unique factors of a blm.
if you need TIM to be able to access the past... that makes no sense.
if you give them demi, it would never work reliably...or at all[endgame] (see ruinous omen)
if you give them any variation of haste,bind,stun,sleep,gravity... it takes away from rdm (blm)
hastega is a whm spell, so to give them such a spell would conflict with whm and whm-type mobs in the game (see moval moblins)

some unique ideas that could work for a time mage(most stated above):

    attack speed up
stopping a mob for a few seconds
    petrifying a mob
party regain (see meditate and shikikoyo)
lowering monster's tp gain (see penance)

there are a few more unique things you could add to time mage... but it still doesn't make a complete job. said ideas would be cool, but would they actually hold up on the mobs that matter? and how much can we increase our attack speed before we're all hundredfisting mobs. i just think SE would have to really out-do themselves to pull something like timemage off... and geomancer aswell

I'm not either because a lot of spells that would be unique to a time mage has already been implemented by another job.

    Restore
    - Not sure what this is
    Renew
    - Nor this one
    Hastega
    - Albeit slow to cast, but SMN already has it.
    Haste 2
    - iirc, SE said at one time they didn't want to implement another haste spell because the current spell is powerful enough.
    Slowga
    - Maybe
    Slow 2 (3? lol)
    - Already implemented for RDM. They can't take a tier 2 merit and give it to another job.
Stop (a while back I hypothesized that Stop could work similar to Stun, but it wouldn't interrupt an ability/spell, just delay it for 1-2s)
    - Plausible
    Comet! lawl
    - Maybe, but I doubt it would be nearly as powerful as BLM spells.
    Bleed/sap
    - Maybe, but there are already a lot of DoT type spells out there already.
Disable (makes mob unable to use tp moves?)
    - Not sure what this was used for before, but it's possible.

It just feels like a job they have already implemented by taking their spells and spreading it across many other jobs. I'm just not sure how it would fit in with everything. Time Mage is a cool idea, but you have to think how it'll work with the current game and not "omgwtftimemage!"

Re: Time mage in JP mag?

It'd be cool if instead of stunning or stopping them, they could made the mobs devolve to a younger age/previous form so you'd end up fighting a baby Fafnir for a few seconds, now wouldn't that look badass.

    brb gonna ZAM myself.

That's Warrior, hence the lorica and calligae (even the mask resembles the shape of the helmets used by the Roman empire soldiers).
