Ive always thought that spell could be pulled off as blizzard, yes its coming from the sky like meteor, but it has a blue frosty look to it.

The new job is "Ice Cream Truck".

They are obviously casting the spell of "Snoll Jellato".

Those definitely seem to be BLM, based off of Vivi's desgin.

call me retarded... i know this took place during a war, but the people holding the flags seemed to stand out to me.

    FLAGMASTER! >.>

no clue what it'd do but maybe flagmaster joined the fighters in the war and came to boost morale (aka support job) ... sorta like a dancer i guess?

idk thats the only thing that seemed to be somewhat unique

oh and it sounds like fagmaster... there i said it

I think it was based off Butz's design.

Uh, how about the new Orc/Quad/Yag models? The new Yagudo are definately SAM, the Orcs are gas maskers, and I forgot what the Quadav looked like. I just remember that they wear armor to protect vs. Bastokan firearms, so therefore they are a job with the worst 2HR ever: Invulnerable (Not Really): Grants immunity versus ranged attacks.

Also, I thought the spell in the intro as an ice spell when I first saw it (it actually took someone to call it Meteor in order for me to think otherwise), but I guess there are chuncks of ice in space, so it could be a Comet spell. (Note: Comet is dark based on what someone in the AV theory thread said, so that'd be the answer to a dark nuke, which Timmy would probably get.)

Also also, it's not in the video, but what about those chocobo-mounted knights?

    Sorta-edit: Wouldn't Bartz's design be based of FF3's Warlock (BLM v2)?

Didn't that video have a SMN with a Scythe?

Maybe that's the new job. Sythummoner!

You make it sound like people expect chemist/medic to heal with no cost at all, even though most people expect it to be a inventory/gil-consuming job.
actually, I'm pretty sure that's specifically not what I made it sound like. (where in mp-less healer do you infer 'free'?)

I fully expect chemist to be the fourth consumable job and nicely round out the consumables role's. (rng, nin, cor, chm - dd,tank, support, healer)

Well, I read it as "a MP-less healer would be broken!" but that's just me. To be honest I forgot what the original context even was, so forget what I said.

Anyway, upon rewatching the E3 trailer, it's clear to me now--chocobo knight. The narrator asks for Altana to give him wings, clearly it's the chocobo talking or a chocobo knight who wants to be a bird so he isn't scorned for his practice of bestiality. You also see a Hume running around with a polearm.

EDIT: Oh my, I was right! In the first trailer, you see a chocobo where it says 5th Anniversary!
EDIT2: Just realized it said intro video of FFXI. Were there chocobos in that video? (I vaguely recall some.) I'm not serious about choco knight, but you never know...
EDIT3: It's clear to me now (this time, it's for real)--all of the new jobs are in there: TIM (the BLM were subbing it), CHO, and ROC (rock climber). TIM quest is tied to the main storyline, CHO is involved with chocobo raising, and ROC quests have Aldo as the client.

The new job should be a Berserker. gets a 100% damage bonus on all mobs, but you can't control him.

That'd be fun. Can't control your movement, or what you attack, you'll just automatically attack whatever is closest. It'd be like being charmed, only you use your strongest WS automatically at 100% (e.g. Rampage rather than Calamity or Decimation). User input wouldn't do anything.

It could be a job trait, maybe with 4 or 5 levels overall.

Would be fun to bring a Berserker to Dynamis, lol.

lolBerserker. Leave it in an area where the lowest easy prey for your level spawn or where things drop sellable items. Equip regen gear and an autoregen sub. Leave it on overnight. Profit.

It'd be my new merit job. I could just afk in the middle of thickets since the berserk status would be an always-active job trait. It could be a powerful sub, too. RDM/BSK would stand at a distance and uncontrollably and automatically cure, sleep, dia III, convert, as well as haste and refresh all members of the party based on job class (i.e won't automatically haste a mage, won't automatically refresh a WAR, and will only refresh a DRK when its MP is less than half). BRD/BSK would uncontrollably pull and lullaby, sing March and Minuet for the melees, and Ballad the mages.

Re: Time mage in JP mag?

I think Time Mage could happen, but from watching the video all I seem to be able to come up with is some manner of long-lost Tavnazian job.

I think it's generally hinted at that adventurers are actually fairly weak in a larger scope of things? So 4 military-trained BLMs would be able to cast something like that.

Which brings me to my second idea about the video, "it kind of looks like it was hinted at once you know what it is, but there's nothing really there".

Time mage is acceptable if it can take my ranger back in time.

Okay, I haven't looked at most of this thread, but can someone answer me:

Is there any valuable info or is everyone just speculating like they did at WotG's release?
