I haven't been contacted by anyone besides the campus security dude who just needs a written report from me about what happened. I told him verbally what took place and he's mostly pissed and concerned about the fact that I was followed onto my school's property where the man chased me around the lot, twice came inches from hitting me, trying to box me in twice as well, and then without warning or provoking assaulted me on their property.

At least some form of authority is on my side so far.

You should be good, the retard took it of his own will to act like the police. He fucked up on so many levels even if he did report it the police will likely toss the report. The best they have is littering and.... littering and.... littering and.... smokin' the reefer.

In all seriousness that dick sounded like he needed that wake up call from Humble Hank. Good work.

like someone mentioned, he'll go home and think about what he did to escalate the situation, and realize he won't be able to sue for shit.

Honestly, why does it matter his age? Just because an agressive person is in a condition that they are harmed more easily (old) does not mean that they should all of the sudden protected.
I can't even fathom how people could honestly think that just because a guy is old he can go around chasing people in his car and then running up to them to hit/check them.

Seriously, the guy could have caused a car accident and killed people or himself. Then he checks someone on a stairwell? Guy obviously isn't the most stable person or informed decision maker around. I'm sure there's another side to the story but the way Mioko laid the story out it seemed like he was trying to be pretty objective.

I'm sure if he was looking for the victim light he would have said "oh a book fell out of the car window." When someone starts a story with that much honesty they usually tend to stick to their guns to the end.

    Exactly how I feel.

He was exactly the type of person that angers me to no end. Flustered, furious and red-faced, taking the law into his own hands, trying to get physically violent with some young/ample stranger over something that doesn't involve him in any way, shape, or form. I can't even count how many times I've run into his kind when I was all about skateboarding all through highschool. I've been in a number of instances where I was grabbed or something while skateboarding by some fuck that got uncontrolably angry over me rolling around on a piece of wood. This whole incident felt so good to finally "get back" at pieces of overreacting shit like them. At least one crazy white-haired fuck got put in his place. I was almost glad he hit me so I could finally let out some of that pent up rage on his retarded ass. How hard is it to simply call the police and let them take care of it because it's their job and NO ONE ELSE'S. God forbid they simply call the police and report and let me be oblivious. Please chase/harass/assault me and let me know you're reporting me.

    FUCK OLD PEOPLE... Metaphorically.

Since it's California, anything can happen.

    1. Littering
    2. Assault (Yes, I know he hit you first but like I said... California)
    3. Speeding
    4. Disturbing the peace

That is if they can find proof, being as those people who saw you shove the stupid bastard down the stairs don't show up as witnesses. (Littering charge can be verified through video, though not being familiar with the Santa Barbara area I am not sure if they have intersection cameras at the stop signs/lights)

If infact something does happen, be sure to stand up for yourself and explain everything in detail as his actions towards you could carry harsher charges including false imprisonment.

Re: I pushed an old man down some stairs.

You guys keep bringing up all kinds of possible criminal charges. There will be absolutely, positively no criminal charges. You really think the city is interested in devoting resources to investigate case of littering? Seriously? The only possible legal action to come out of this is if the dumbass decides to sue. Even then, Mioko has more of a chance winning a lawsuit than he does.

The guy was probably transferring his anger from other things in his life to some young arrogant bastard who wasn't respecting his elder. It probably also didn't help that Mioko reminded him of the young punk who knocked up his slut daughter, the Starbucks guy who forgot the latte in his espresso, the asshole who cut in line at the theater, etc.

Um... if they went to court for this it would be for the assault charge.

FYI Assault is verbal harassment. Battery is physical action. So you know.

    quotes from wiki
Assault is often defined to include not only violence, but any physical contact with another person without their consent. American common law has traditionally defined assault as an attempt to commit a battery.

In many common law jurisdictions, the crime of battery involves an injury or other contact upon the person of another in a manner likely to cause bodily harm.

the distinction between battery and assault:

the overt behavior of an assault might be A advancing upon B by chasing after him and swinging a fist at his head, while
that of an act of battery might be A actually striking B.
you must commit assault to get to battery, both would be the charges against the older man in this case. Almost all cases of battery will carry the charge of assault with it. Verbal threats are assault, but assault is not verbal threats only. Pointing a gun at someone is assault too.

Man I just can't agree with that. It's always better to defend yourself, retaliate, if you will.

    btw, kudos on the story.
