I was just in Las Vegas for a long weekend of booze, boobs, and debauchery. While eating at PF Chang's in their private back-room for large parties, one of the guys says "hey guys, I saw a sign for George Carlin, he's in town for the weekend. Do you think we can get tickets?"

So my friend calls 411, asks for some Las Vegas hotel or ticket office, and scores us 12 tickets for later that evening. Apparently George was in town trying out new material for a new HBO special he'll be filming soon (his 14th or 15th).

This guy is 70 and is still hilarious as hell.

He was saying some incredible shit. I was drunk and don't remember too much of what he said, but on the same token I don't want to spoil the new material for anyone. Some nice raunchy stuff, as well as his thought provoking stuff. He actually points out alot of things that people realize today, but he does it so much better with his style of humor.

He had a pile full of notes he was going through during this act, but man, he was still tight as hell.

edit: he'll be back on September 20-23 if anyone plans on making an impromptu trip to Vegas.

No, I'm with you on that one. Sometimes he says amusing things, but for the most part he seems to take issue with shit that I think is kind of stupid (preheat, preboard, etc) or just goes on really long-winded tangents that I don't find particularly amusing.

Will Ferrel is not funny. He is another Adamn Sandler-esque comedian who has one character (the stupid man-boy) that he milks and for some reason people still think it is funny.

But no one pisses me off like Jim Carrey. That one-trick-pony tried to do a "serious" role and thought he deserved an Oscar for not talking with his butt in one movie. And he still wasn't good in it.

Just wondering what do you mean by JC being a one trick pony? If you are referring to his physical comedy, thats just his style-his particular area of expertise. He is very good at making people laugh with funny noises and wierd body movements which is a hard thing to do. You may not like it b/c it does come off as immature. His comedian career has been pretty diverse. Hes done stand-up, worked on the show "In Living Color", and has been in many movies. You could call Lewis Black or GC a one trick pony b/c all they do is talk.

The real one trick ponies are Adam Sandler and Will Ferrel as you already mentioned.
