It doesn't matter how fast they are killing it, as long as they are intending to kill it (which they were) and aren't deliberately killing it slowly to adjust the ToD.

According to policy. But if GMs can make up policy on the fly, then that means they are full of shit when they say they can't do anything about blatent RMTs. One or the other of these has to be false.

According to the poster, the GM tried to talk to an individual and was ignored. To what extent he was ignored has not been stated... Did the individual first respond and then begin to ignore when asked to disengage? I see no reason for the GM to lie since he's just doing his job and has no vested interest in this so I'm going to have to be lead to believe that he was attempting to talk and did not get a response. Ultimately after the lack of communication he was forced to make an assessment based off the situation at hand.

What troubles me is the discrepency of the story:

They don't care who was on the way they based the decision on what we had there at the time.
So you said "we have more on the way" to who? This points out that you did have some conversation with the GM? or was it the individual which got temp banned? In either case it confirms the first thought up top which is communication was started and then ceased forcing the GM to make his own assessment.

Deevo can you please elaborate what the setup of your 7 person party was and your your strategy to kill the NM exactly? It sounds from the opposing LS that all was done was BIO and if I were a GM that was being ignored, I would have to make the assessment that this was the bare minimum to pretend that you were killing it. Someone else has posted here that they have killed khimara with the same numbers in 1/4 the time. Also can you tell us how long into the battle before you got jailed? It sounds like you were there for at least 30 minutes possibly more?

With the evidence given by this thread so far i would have say the GM was right in the decision because communication was most likely started in some aspect and then cutoff at a later time forcing the GM to assess whether you were holding or not. If I were a GM and all I saw was 7 people only casting BIO then I would probably move for holding as well.

Also if i were being talked to by a GM, I would sure as hell pay attention to whether or not I had recieved any more tells honestly. And i would have to say your 4th individual probably ignored the tells to possibly make a scapegoat in avoiding a GM direct command to disengage. This is probably why the other 3 individuals weren't penalized in anyway but just held to stop the "Holding". I have no idea, however, why only 4 people would be pulled from the fight.

Thank you for finally some intelligent discussion.

Most of the information i tell you now is after the fact.

During the fight, the party was never told in /p or /s or /t about a GM saying we were holding. The person who was temp banned (rdm) got a /tell from a GM that we were holding and needed to leave. He was kinda busy and either didn't respond to the GM or ignored him. Yes that was probably a bad idea. I don't know why the pld was the first to be warped to Mordian (small room btw). rdm was second. I arrived in mordian last. I saw the tail end of that conversation and the only thing i saw the GM say was that basically he didn't care what we had to say but we were being returned to our HPs. The rdm was then kicked from all conversation and banned.

As far as our strategy. We did 12% damage to it with no problem even with only 1 whm (i was afk for 90% of the fight). Granted 12% in 30minutes. It would have been a long fight however we had 5 more members on the way as they were logging on. It was 10am PST. The rdm was /drk for stun and only DoT and the sam for TA and occasional SA. It TPed very rarely and was TPing about maybe once a minute (fulmination could easily be stunned). And even if fulmi did get off, it only hits the plds and sam. It really doesn't hit for that much. I was just returning from AFK when the GM happened.

As far as the "we have more on the way" comment: I never knew anything about a GM call until after i was warped to Mordian. The SGM was the one who told me that he was told by our leader we had more on the way. It was during my questioning of the GM that this came up and he said that didn't matter.

As far as someone saying earlier in the thread about killing with the same amount of people in an hour: I can't really say much about this without bringing up more drama that I don't want in my legitimate thread. All I can say is look at the poster who made that comment and then search comments about this poster. I can guarantee you that this didn't happen as I'm sure anyone here will state. Ask whoever you want about being able to kill Khim with 7 in an hour. Hydra yes easily but Khimaira no.

Please let me know if you have any other questions as long as it isn't rival LS related and only about my original post about GM decisions. I'll be happy to answer them.

    Re: A Bad GM decision?

gonna have to skip the wall o' text page

We definitely weren't "scared" that Vanquish was going to kill it we were "scared" that our pubes would turn gray before it finally keel'd over from boredom.

And now since Mashu's linkshell has the TOD on it we get to watch them bore it too death too with their alliance of rdm/drks kiting around after 4 hours of failure and then finally wiping at 11%

Time is money. Call a GM and save a buck. IMO

Sorry about the "Bump" I was typing in AIM about the CTD (Cyberly Transmitted Disease) I contracted from Sinstarr in the other thread. These bumps itch too!

Deevo you know for a fact when you posted, that this was going to start drama and was about 50% of your intention. Don't play it off like you care what the decision is in the forums when half your linkshell will GM anyone on a whim. IE GM call for: sam/thf using flee (me), standing too close to someone's character, oh and holding at KV while we were waiting for day time to fight (Strategy to counteract KV's huge regen at night). I could go on but would be adding the the wall o' text page 5 has become.

It's more about respect, let them deal with their shit. If they wipe...Fair game! Otherwise sit tight. If you don't like it, move along. Coming from a linkshell that small mans shit a lot, I know what it's like to get GM calls. Empathy, empathy.

Respect on this server is called, Diaga'ing slept darters while pulling spiders thru fafhogg. There are no innocent linkshells here and GMing on a whim is but a small part in what goes on in the Wonderful World of Fenrir.

Actually that's just your linkshell. The other HNMLS are on good terms with each other, or at least a mutual respect to let the other do their thing when they win claim and no /say /emote etc. harassment on a daily basis

Was it not our LS that killed Khimi last pop ? And a pop or 2 b4 that? o.o Gosh ~ And 3 swords in ls(we must do something right)?

Far as I know every ls has bad days and every ls can whipe at any HNM As we've seen many times at many Cerby's I've watched.

    >.> Dont bash at Tek Eiladar :3 we are not a hard core end game LS ~ We are out to have fun not back stab everyone else on this server. We've never done one thing to Kupo and/or VQ and for the most part neither shell has ever been rude to us..But you dont hesitate to try to bash/push buttons, do you?

You mean like the time Leggo horde lullaby'd darters shortly before you kicked him from the linkshell and we did nothing and then 2 days later we claimed darters instead of Nidhogg and looky there!!!! Roninone with a nice Diaga that almost wiped your alliance and ours.

Look, if you are claiming darters in the Aery, you are wasting your time coming in the door when you KNOW everyone else has the dats pulled. If you want to be a hardass, try and do it w/o looking like a dumbass.

I'm not saying it's right, it's simply a fact that stems from a broken camp.

lol, I knew I shouldn't have said anything, as Eiladar was seeking that kind of reaction, Classi.

Respect is not given away freely, Eiladar; It's earned. Why do you think all the other linkshells get along and have mutual respect for everyone else, with an exception of yours? Look no further than this very thread. While I respect a few choice individuals within Kupo, that's something dwindling away, day-by-day.

It was even my fault I usually don't try to claim since I don't have the "tools" but nid popped on top of me and I hit my /targetnpc macro. /blush. But 2 wrongs still don't make a right.

I can only imagine what went on with the VQ people after the gm jailed them for holding khim. I'm pretty sure however Deevos reaction was something along the lines of this.

The only thing I'm getting from reading this topic is "Well there are a lot of assholes on this server and it's not like they had their hands clean to begin with" which doesn't make a bit of difference in terms of whether or not the GM made a bad decision and doesn't make the people who called the GM any less of an asshole.

    Re: A Bad GM decision?

Isn't this why they made the other HNM have psycho-mode?

It really dumbs down the challenging aspects of the game when you have the crybabies that call a GM on an LS for "holding" or "taking too long." What it really means is your a spoiled selfish brat pitching a tantrum because you're not getting your way in a video game. And I'm not defending the OP by any means, I know this game and I'm sure either him or someone in his LS at some point in the past or down the road has or will have done the same exact thing to another LS.

How about not being faggots and just letting them do what they want since they got there first?

Whoever called the GM is a little bitch, the GM that jailed is an idiot, and the game design is obviously flawed because shit like this can happen.

In before whiny justification over shit that doesn't matter.

Guy who got temp-banned shouldn't have ignored the GM, that's just asking for trouble.
