I'd wait at least a few years if no other reason for the simple fact that little infections and shit can turn into such a huuuuuge deal at that age.

I got my left ear pierced when I was 16 and still got an infection (wasn't because of anything really, just my body's reaction to it..) so you can't really tell.
If a girl comes up to her parents and wants to pierce her ears at 8-10 they should just let her do it... everyone here in LA does it at that age anyways, you'd just be pissing your kid off if you won't let her.
I'd be pissed off at my parents if I didn't get circumcised.Originally Posted by Tonko

Considering how vulnerable new borns are for the first year, i'd have to say no. Maybe going on 4-5 years old but certainly not worth the risk in the first year just because the parent doesn't think they 'look cute enough'.
My brother in law got my nephew and nieces earrings pierced, he also has a pierced ear, he is racist and a bigot, yet he looks like a faggot, I really hope my sister divorces him soon, he needs to get hit by a car or something. Earings aren't very attractive in the first place, idk why ppl get them.
I voted hell no, especially since it's your daughter, and I think girls with "pure skin" (No piercings or tattoos of any sort ever) are really hot. I figure when I'm 45, I'll be looking for a nice pure-skinned 18-year old, and yeah...
I'm probably not helping to convince you not to do this am I.
Circumcision is a medical procedure which "benefits" the baby, while ear piercing has no point at all.
Bitch slap your ho and after she wakes up ask her wtf she was thinking.
Let's try to just keep this on ear-piercing, I don't want another 20 page Circumcision thread.Originally Posted by Yangsing

@Tyche
I can't believe your wife is serious about this, the kid should be in her teens for that.
one of the few things my wife and i agreed on was the fact that we would wait till she was old enough to ask for pierced ears, thus we figured she would be old enough to take care of her own pierced ears and we wouldn't have to deal with them.
it worked wonders. we have no fear of our daughter turning into a slut and don't have to worry about her ears getting infected! I would suggest this strategy for your significant other and play your cards from there.
No fucking chance. Babies with ears pierced look fucking terrible besides the fact the child might not even like it
I have a lot of piercings myself but I wouldn't do it to my daughter that young, it looks a bit chavvy on little kids tbh, plus I wouldn't want her to catch them on anything cause I am always yanking mine out by accident. (which is only cool if theres someone nearby to bleed at)![]()
whenever she asks I'll get it done properly I guess.
At that age if you pierced her ears you might just be creating the youngest tramp in the world. I think that piercings look trashy for the most part with how huge and ridiculous the earrings a lot of people wear are. But sometimes they can look good. Question is why the hell does your wife want your 4 month old to be looking good. It's a baby for cryin out loud what the hell does it need any kind of piercing for.
Tell your wife to get some damn dolls if she wants to play dress-up.
Absolutely no way, let her grow to be at least 10 when she can ask for them herself. As unnoticeable as piercings are, they never go away after you get them. My parents were being pretty reasonable letting my sisters pierce their ears at 12 (I never did mine, was too much a tomboy... climbing trees and cartoons > barbies). Now at mid-20s the other one is slightly bitter about being allowed to do it when so young as she's gone all anti-piercing (while the other now has at last count 6 piercings and a handful of tattoos). You never know what they end up liking when they grow up and it should be their own choice so they can't blame anyone else.![]()
And yeah they look really cheap and chavvy on small children, kids should be free to play and run around. Not worry about tearing their earlobe off by accident.![]()
If they can write it on paper then i would see it being okay.
untill then. NO!
It's something I absolutely hate seeing on little kids - especially where I'm from where they give them chav hoop earrings by about the age of 2. I just don't see the point in it - they're your kid and you're happily going to get a metal post fired through their ears? I got mine done when I was about 12 and was old enough to choose and be allowed to do them (and basically I went into town after school one day and got them done anyway so bleh to mumsie!).
Not only that but then when they get to school age and have to take them out for PE they're far too young to be able to cope with it at that age. My class are just about old enough to deal with taking their own earrings out or covering them with tape - but any younger down the school and if they come into school on PE day with earrings in we have to make them sit the lesson out because we're not allowed to touch their ears to either take earrings out or tape them over ourselves. Hell - I don't even wear stud earrings for work myself because so much goes on within schools that runs the risk of them getting caught on something (crowded corridors, PE etc - plus it's a habit I got out of while teaching little kids because some of the littlies still have a tendency to grab you).
Wtf?
Sure it wont hurt her (then again some sort of wierd ear infection could kill her if bad enough, maybe >.>), but wtf? Who the hell is your wife trying to impress with your daughter? Maybe your daugter doesnt even want earrings when shes older, not ALL females wear earrings. Even if she does want earrings, let her make the decision and slap some sense into your woman. I hope your wife isnt the type to dress young girls in tight slut cloths or let their young daughters get away with doing that stuff.
Oh god don't get me started on some of the stuff 4 and 5 year olds come into school wearing when it's Christmas parties...![]()
