I don't know about you guys, but even after they give us the answer to how to beat AV or if the video they make reveals it to us, I would still like for this battle to be very challenging. Theres nothing in this game atm that brings forth challenge, and the things that do, give the slightest bit of it, and also give the least amount of reward. The reward is what motivates people, and if there is none, you get wack ass people skipping events, when they see no benefit from it. So if AV remains challenging but beatable and the rewards are worth it, then everyone is happy. Not only happiness is acquired, but skill and knowledge is aswell. Skill must be needed to beat this, I don't want to see garbage ass gilsellers killing it a few months from when the answer is revealed.
If Gravity 2 is listed as elemental, that means any of that shit can change.

So they are talking about stopping regen on Jailer of Love or AV? I know that killing the summons slow JoL, but does it affect AV?

They never said the Wyvnav's were a mistake, it's clearly some sort of code that had them tied into him being locked, they just changed something about it, and now when we ask what, they say to lock the Regen which clearly isn't the problem with killing him.
It seems almost logical that they meant for us to discover how to lock his Regen before we worked out Wyvnav locking, and when we did it the other way, they simply hadn't expected it to be lockable without stopping the Regen first. That was a bug, they patched it, now we get "lock the Regen" over and over.
It seems they meant the mob to be really puzzle like, and the requirement of knowing what you had to do with JoL before AV might have popped would not only be a rather unexpected way to weaken him, it would be a nice time dump too, since you can spend this time doing this with JoL and then not get a pop.
So again, I ask, does anyone, anywhere, ever remember hearing about, or having done the JoL/Elemental Day Regen locking Crap, followed by a Wyvnav locking attempt since the ninja patch?
Hmmm, there's a pretty simple way to keep all mages out of range of meteor and and still in range of curing tanks and nuking while fighting AV, but could you keep the tanks alive? I have a strat that would keep mages safe, but need a way to handle wyverns and actually keep tanks alive to Aeroga IVs and Meteors. If people think its possible I'll do a post on the strat.
I know that I was most definetly part of a run that followed the directions given in the interview with Elemental Day and what not, combined with nuking out wynavs when they popped. The result was a big pile of wipe and Meteor.Originally Posted by Max™

anyways good interview i have been reading them for a while now. obviously aside from you being very punctual and prepared, how do you manage to get theese interviews?
i really think they should watch us play our characters more and give us a chance to use our own personal characters on certain things. like at Fan fest when they allow us to use certain jobs etc all like lvel 60 in full AF lol....
i always have ideas for the Warrior job but really that's all i can ever think of. basically i want a buffed warrior tank >.> cuz we all know they are basically extinct now on HNM ever since Nny dissapeard and a few others like Luminare warrior just hasn't gotten much respect (just my rant lol)
is it possible that the "special" flag in the dat files was meant only to describe the coloration of the casting icon if it should ever fall into our hands? it seems to me that the game would never make a client side check to see if you roll a resist, b/c someone could easily cheat by coaxing it to always throw a max roll resist against the spell, enabling a lvl 10 player to tank JoL if he could hold hate. i wonder if it might in fact have an element, despite the dat file info. i doubt it's air, ice, water, thunder, or earth based on the appearance, and if it were light, someone with an osode would have caught that i'd imagine. the only possibility i can think of is dark, especially with comet flagged as dark, but i'm skeptical on that too. while i believe meteor to indeed be non-elemental, i'm not sure that the client dat file is sufficient to prove it. could always test it against kaiser behemoth wearing a couple of death+2's and a joyeuse to see if you can roll a resist, but i doubt you'd get anywhere.
