No one dies. The blues loose agro fairly quickly and just roam back of their own accord. It's not been a problem for us. The only time it would have been a problem was when I was solo'ing it as nin/whm and that time it was in pin#1 and not an issue. My worry for west was in the case for when the blues are pulled far enough away to return via the drop. I'm not sure what kind of path they take there.
You can't be getting very many points? Need a better DD soloing the boss. It should only take 30-45 seconds to kill.
