Based on the results of our investigation, around 6570 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while around 390 accounts were temporarily suspended.

I just find it, I dunno, slightly insane that bannings hit over 1000 in some instances, when banning is more and more frequent.

With these numbers and dwindling GS in general out there, there's bound to be more and more cases "hitting home," as it were.

My completely arbitary guess is that they do weekly banning for obvious hacks, claims, pos hacks, etc. because they are obvious, and save up for the end of the month for repetitive action and RMT transactions because there has to be a pattern of action instead of just an obvious offense.

The number of suspicious groups engaged in leveling up has increased. Are they being dealt with?

According to the information we have been receiving from players, it seems that the actions of these suspicious groups is on the rise. However, since leveling up itself is not a violation of the user agreement, we currently have no plans to act against these groups.
In the same way we deal with other problems, we investigate all reports and information provided and, if any violations of the user agreement are found, we deal with the problem.

If they were flagging their names for future use, wouldn't it make more sense not to mention that fact publicly? That way, the RMTs keep levelling in the same old obvious ways because they think it's not a problem... yet they're actually making it easy for the STF to identify them.

I don't doubt for a minute SE doesn't mind taking their money from them leveling up, then banning them once they start being a problem. SE has gotten pretty good at wiping the RMT clean monthly, why not make some money of the RMT in the process. LOL

They never release update details until about an hour after the servers are down for maintenance.

Yeah, getting around to banning the craft bots gives me some hope that maybe we can start making money by crafting again. RMT have wrecked a lot of markets that used to be profitable. (Sushi)

This is very true Sept, we can always hope I suppose. It's not like it can get much worse that it has been in the last year (in my case) or so. I'm just interested in how this will all play out in the coming months.

Better yet, the gil farmers keep buying new copies of the game to replace the ones that got banned, meaning extra profit for Square. It's quite brilliant really, the players love them for owning the crap out of the gil sellers, and the gil sellers keep giving them money in monthly fees and new copies of the game sold. Total win-win situation.

woot orz. more bannings of my chinese brothers is always a good thing for the game. heh. I'm glad Se has finally decided to crack down on the crafting RmT. They just need to focus on the NA fish bots and i'll be really excited. Need to put my 95 fishing to use. Lol.
