Well, Martial Bhuj has higher base dmg, better straight dmg/delay DPS, and the critical hit varies with TP on raging rush will get more than a 6% boost going from 100 TP to 200 TP, so wouldn't you still use that?Originally Posted by Therin

Ah, good point. So if the +100 TP results in more than 6% chance to crit, Martial Bhuj is still definitely better (remember, +100% TP won't affect damage anymore, just chance to crit - how likely is it that 200% TP is more than +6%? I wouldn't know).

grips are good, needs +5's before I'm willing to pay what they're liable to cost though. (although acc+ is some good. so is crit+3% and delay-3% has potential depending.)
I personally hate getting 3% haste in a previously unused slot when people will spend a million gil or farm omega constantly for an equivalent amount in another slot. God damnit SE I hate you time to whine and bitch in BG patch threadsOriginally Posted by Sekkite

hmm, so far those grips are looking pretty lackluster![]()
Oh? What were you using in that slot before as comparison?Originally Posted by Juib
I can't imagine anyone would complain about the delay -3% or crit +3% grips, other than that they appear to be weapon-specific. The people who are going to be really disappointed are the ones who expected big improvements for jobs that didn't need them.
Oh my god, you're right! Even that Brass Grip is game-breaking, being that I never had DEX+1 in that slot before... and now I can!Originally Posted by ringthree
3% haste is better than 3% delay reduction for every 2h job. (possibly excepting apoc darks and anyone else who can clear 23% haste in gear already)
3% delay reduction can fuck with store TP, which potentially fucks with 6 hit setups for sam and drk etc etc.
not that this necessarily makes it a bad item (again, new slot.) or even if this ends up being not optimal, there's other items for the slot.
People need to realize that these grips are just introductory grips, and it's likely more grips will be released in the future.
The real upgrade this update is the actual 2hander damage modification anyway.
Its an update, there's an unwritten rule that people will bitch about every possible addition, as well as the lack of an addition that was never hinted at in the first place, at some point, no matter how ridiculous it is to bitch about.Originally Posted by Weeks
Honestly, some of those grips are pretty nice, and they'll certainly add more grips in the future. Just be content with what you're getting for once. :/
While the addition of straps was nice, I'm agreeing that they seem to be pretty meh. If the weapon delay one doesn't mess with haste cap or 6-hit that'll be nice, but I'mbetting I will use the crit one.
And back to Raging Rush, wouldn't using the Perdu Voulge be a better idea? Much higher DPS, even if it does mean lower crit, plus acc and atk to boot.
Did I say groundbreaking? Didn't SE even say they wouldn't be groundbreaking?Originally Posted by Khamsin

the whole "its better than nothing" arguement is just silly. theres no way +3 this or -3 that is going to put 2handers back on par with dual wielders. which means that the 2handed dmg adjustment better be damn good.Originally Posted by ringthree
Exactly. Notice that none of these grips are level 70+, so there's plenty of room for good endgame grips to be added.Originally Posted by Mertron
I too use Centurion Finger Gauntlets instead of Dusk Gloves.Originally Posted by Khamsin
There's really three ways to look at the addition of straps:
1) I use two-handed weapons anyway and this is a nifty little bonus
2) I might start using two-handed weapons because the straps are around
3) I would have maybe used two-handed weapons but since straps suck I'm less likely to
If you thought SE was adding them to persuade you to use 2-hand weapons, and you're not convinced, then that's fine. I still think there's no denying that mages are going to love extra stats next to their staves and Samurais and Dragoons will appreciate the use of the sub slot they've been missing out on. Hell, I'm a RNG and I'm looking forward to adding to my Vulcan's Staff.
