The Soboro Sukehiro NM, wondering a couple of things about the fight.

One, is it possible to do this with only a couple of people? Does Grav stick? Bind? I'm considering ways to solo, duo, or trio it. Any input on the feasibility, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Personally every time I've done this fight we've had at least 12+ people. The clusters hit hard and fast so you're going to want to kill him quickly. Not to mention that the more people you have there with Stun WS will help increase the amount of times that you can stun.

Honestly I don't see this fight being down with a low man setup like other fights. Mainly because of where you would be fighting him; there are bomb repops in the cave and bids/everything else outside of it.

I've killed with 7 but it was dicey. 8-9 is much more comfortable, 10+ is easy.

light based sleep (especially lightshot) worked really well.

shadowbind and bind both work, but bind seems to wear pretty fast. (shadowbind functions normally)

grav - I never had a rdm there, couldn't tell you.

bring at least 2 stunners (dark and blackmage both work), pld/war is the ideal tank, all melee besides paladin should have /nin for shadows.

bards are really helpful, so are corsairs. you'll want two healers for security, blackmage can make an ok backup healer to the main.

barfira is critical, he has blazespikes that can't be dispelled.

don't be afraid to sleep it if you need to recover, he is not quite (but very close to) capable of one shotting a tank.

Maybe a PLD for emergencies.

Susceptible to sleep, nuke -> rotate ES+sleep -> repeat till death.

Can kill conventionally but melee aren't helping terribly in this fight, he(they?) has/have perma-blaze spikes and if your melee aren't /NIN, they're boned from his AoE.

If you can get a solid PLD and healer tanking him shouldn't be terrible, if all your melees are /NIN and keep 3 shadows up all the time they'll be ok as well.

6 people non-manaburn would be tricky, best setup would probably be BLM RDM WHM PLD DRK THF.

DRK and THF must /NIN, do Power Slash -> TA+VB onto the PLD. DRK watches like a hawk for self-destruct, always hasted for stun recast, BLM secondary stun.

WHM+RDM should be enough to maintain the PLD safely but always a good idea to bring meds, RDM should be /BLM, when the shit hits the fan and the PLD goes down you'll want that second ES+sleep.

WHM should be /SMN for the extra MP, auto refresh, and for Shining Ruby, a nice bonus unless you're unsure, if then have them come /BLM for yet another ES+sleep, but if all goes well you shouldn't need it.

The key to this fight is utilizing sleep, don't be afraid to sleep it to recover some MP, it's always better to choose to sleep the mob before the PLD dies than to have to sleep the mob after the PLD dies.

You won't be able to low man this without a rock solid PLD and good stunners, if you can get those 2 things it's very possible.

If you can get a BRD to come split the parties up between THF+DRK and PLD+RDM+WHM+BLM and have the BRD swap back and forth for easy singing, the extra MP and damage can go a long way.
