Any tests for Wizard's roll yet?
or the more useless gallant roll? =p
Evoker's still the same =/ +4 on 11
Would drk be subbing nin in that setup? I'm thinking about inviting sam and drk to merits now, but it might be too much of a mp drain...Originally Posted by Delekii
since they can reach 850 attack with no minuet and 65 attack only from food, /nin should be perfectly ok. Perhaps /SAM, between drain, drain2 and dreadspikes...Originally Posted by alphacat
ps: where the fuck are steel bullets at?
Has anyone with alchemy tried synthing with steel for the bullets?
Fire Crystal
1 x Steel Ingot
1 x Firesand
?
Edit: The recipe worked.

No idea. My friend says it must be a high level synth though.
I've done all the math, within less than a half of a percentage point of error.
CHAOS ROLL IS F*CKING BUFF.
Chaos Roll today without a DRK is 25% better than Chaos Roll yesterday with a DRK.
Yesterday:
Today:Code:I = +4%/11% II = +4%/11% III = +4%/11% IV = +12%/18% V = +6%/12% VI = +7%/13% VII = +7%/13% VIII = +1%/7% IX = +8%/15% X = +10%/16% XI = +18%/25% Avg. = +9.3%/14.7%
Code:I = +6%/16% II = +7.66%/17.5% III = +9.33%/19% IV = +25%/34.75% V = +10.66%/20.66% VI = +12.5%/22.25% VII = +15.5%/25.33% VIII = +3%/12.75% IX = +17%/26.75% X = +18.66%/28.5% XI = +31%/41% Avg. = +18.47%/26.97%
Is that "average" ignoring the fact that you would never stay on a 1 2 3 5 6?
I did 1 noncrit fail and 2 success with alch 60 (of course smithing is my main)
So Chaos Roll is completely buffed now. What about the other rolls?
Rogue's Roll with a thf was pretty great pre-patch. I like to see BRD's with warlock's roll on Khim now just to see how needed brd/blm's are after this patch. And I know there's gotta be some blms that are hoping Wizard's Roll actually adds some real damage now.
Yes. That average is assuming that you Double-Up when you should (i.e. when probability indicates that Doubling-Up should give you a better result than you currently have).Originally Posted by Delekii
from placement on the alchemy skill lists, I'm guessing its about 49 alchemy skill, don't know about the smithing skill, definitely higher than 20 that iron is at, probably just under 30. I'll know better when I synth some.
Also expect them to be much more expensive than iron, on my server steel ingot stacks go for almost 2x as much.
anyone check corsair roll's experience point bonus?
You know this update is win (or fail for princess nin/mnk/war/brd) when you start saying you need a DRK in your party.Originally Posted by Delekii
Well I got a hold of a cor in my LS and tried some nuking in La Theine on birds. Here's the test results:
No Rolls - 1320
Lucky - 1444

I'm a bit disappointed in wizard's roll (still) but seeing how SE knows how powerful a group of blms can be it's understandable.
just finished a run of steel bullets. I'm very high alchemy and 55 smithing, high enough to get iron bullets to tier 2.
At best, I hit tier 1 on steel bullets. 38 synths, 4 breaks (one HQ break) three HQs (HQs give 99 just like other bullets) Using the 49 alchemy cap number from before, smithing cap is somewhere above 25. Hopefully SE isn't sadistic enough to make it much above 30, else it will be impossible to hit tier 2. highest it can be to hit tier 2 on a 60 skill would be 33, assuming that you have advanced synthesis support and the appropriate +1 skill equipment.
For non-crafters, this means theres a good chance you can't get decent HQ rates like you can on other bullets. Add to this expensive steel ingots (firesand is cheap if you synth like I do) and you're gonna be looking at at least 2x the price of iron bullets once things stabilize.
