Re: PUP and BST Changes / New automation headpieces

For whatever reason it seems that -nas take priority over any other spell at the moment, even with the damage gauge. It hasn't been an issue for me yet, and the Eraser + Silena combo has come in handy several times on Goobs. Due to the regen III spam, solid debuffs, and the fact that you can put Flash/Eraser/Damage Gauge on the new head, I've needed about 2 Cure Vs over the last three days while soloing Ts in the Tree / Sea for skill ups.

I'm sure a lot of people are going to be pissed if/when they fix Harlewaker (its literally unlimited cure III/IVs with the RR trick every 3s, its broke as hell using the trick) but the WHM head works just as well if you know what you're doing and aren't trying 3 Ts at once. Debuffs need to be on the faster timer though, if cures could stay @10-15s it would be fine.

What about Mana Converter instead of Economizer?

Re: PUP and BST Changes / New automation headpieces

I refuse to use converter because it's too random. If I need the reactivate for a fresh MP pool and E100 suddenly converts then my puppet is lost for a while. I use Mana Tank 1 and 2, Conserver and Economiser. I do what Elmer does (and always have done!) load 3 darks, then deploy. 400+ MP back every time.

After Absorb INT goes off, with 2 Ice's and Ice Maker I managed to do an 875 Stone IV on crabs. This is insane. If they "current known issues" was the fact our pupet's stats were LOW, then I can't wait to see what more INT will do.

    267/286, I'm loving it.

    Edit: BLM head behaviour:

From what I've seen with my PLD friend on every mob this is what happens:

100% Will start with the highest nuke, oddly. For me it's Stone IV (Scanner attached)
100%-75% Casts random enfeebles. Blind mainly, but I've seen Paralyze go off. Very odd.
75%-50% Will nuke for mid spells, again for me, Thunder 3 and Blizzard 3.
50-25% Nukes again for the highest spell, Stone IV.
25%-0% Nukes with lower spells. Even with Scanner attached on crabs, he'll use Fire 3, Fire 2, Aero 2, Blizzard 2.

I'd rather he opened with low nukes and ended on high ones to be honest. I have to Vent. at the start of EVRY fight for the PLD to rip hate off.

    Copying from my KI post:

"Howling Fists has proven to be an extremely solid WS for PUPs now with a new pDiF modifier:

    Howling Fist 2.50 2.75 3.00 STR20% VIT50%
    Dragon Kick 2.00 2.75 3.50 STR50% VIT50%

Basically, HF is now stronger than DK at 100TP but weaker than DK at 300TP. Using it exclusively in a Mamool Ja staging point brought fantastic results. Unbuffed HFs on Puks and Mamool Jas hovered between 400-500, while Berserk and COR Chaos Rolls (no BRD or DRK) pushed the damage into the 600-800 range, even on those evasive Mamools! I was actually pulling hate! All in all, it seems the PUPdate not only helped the maton, but improved the master to a level comparable to a solid DDer by themselves.

P.S Also did HK in Salvage and did a surprising number of 350-450 damages without any armor, STR, and VIT cells.

Pics for you of some of the highest damages of the night. My first 1k PUP (master solo) weaponskill too
    http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7.../highestHF.png
    http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...hestHFdaze.png

Also did some 650+ HFs and one 834 to a Mamool Ja in the merit session as well. In fact, the high damage HFs became so common, I just stopped taking pics."

My question now is this: should I sacrifice the +6 attack from Bellicose and +6 from the Mermans for the +2 VIT of the Republican Army Mantle and +1STR and VIT of the Cassie to max my HF (20% STR 50% VIT modifiers) damage? I usually WS with 390-410 attack with Zerk up.

Well, got WHM head. For me, the wait was:

Turn in Cure V, turban, and coins > JP midnight > turn in coffee > JP midnight > pick up WHM head.

I wouldn't sacrifice 6 attack for an amount of str/vit that low. Stat mods don't mean much, just keep the Belicose on or use Boxer's Mantle if you pull hate regularly

My magic skill is a bit behind, but I noticed I went from Regen II to Regen III when I hit 232 skill with my Soulsoother head. No magic merits.

If you needed BRD or COR with Chaos Roll/DRK in pt to reach those numbers you're not doing it by yourself. 400 is still pretty pathetic for a WS in my opinion, and my dragon kicks still do 20 damage from time to time. So I have to disagree. A solid DD will always get close to 1k for every WS (DRK, SAM, well equipped 2 handed WAR) without a BRD or COR, I really don't think the master's melee has been improved THAT MUCH.

Before the patch, 400+ WS was considered to be not such a bad thing. Colibri camps my Asuran usually did around 600-1k without brd songs (never PT'd with a cor), and my PUPs Howlings did around 300-600 (higher ranges with Berserk). If you add Toth's WS with his Automatons (easily 500+ per WS) you get decent numbers that usually equal up to a good DD. To be honest, with PUPs increased damage on WS and Automaton A skill we can keep up easily. If it wasn't for the game breaking 2H update, you would notice it more...

All I'm saying is, it's not constant. My puppet can get totally resisted on knockout and daze. Cannibal never resists, though. Always usually 315 damage. However when I use the new BLM head it's nice to see chunks of HP taken off from nukes. As we're going by melee damage, it's very random. Some time you can get, as I said, a 20 damage DK mixed ith a craptastic 149 Daze, but regular DDs will never drop below 600 or 800. I know I don't on DRK.

The good HF's and Cannibals, Daze and Knockouts are what counds though. But you're preaching to the choir with the fact 'Maton and Master damage = overall damage, I try to tell that to everyone. Nobody listens, as usual.

You should stop using DK then, it's not really consistant and never has been. Howling Fist is better at 100% anyway now. And normal DDs can drop below 600, just not as often as PUP would. And I don't think Daze gets resisted...it just misses. There is some fluctuation in damage sure (like attachments, maneuvers, Flame Holder etc) but it generally is always -/+50 ish damage from base, or course, I could be wrong but I've never seen a "resist" before. I wonder what you're fighting...And Knockout isn't a weaponskill used purely for damage, the evasion down is far more useful, so I wouldn't really count the damage that does with the masters.

Fire Scroll Trade(1st) - JP Midnight (1st) - +1 Coffee(1st) - JP Midnight(1st) - +1 Coffee(2nd) - JP Midnight(3rd and final message without coffee). He still yawns and asks for coffee but won't take it, so if you're foolish enough to trade a lower scroll the +1 definitely helps, by as much as 2 days.

Almost 285 testing on Kirin to see if Scanner works on him because of her higher skill.

I'm talking about meriting. The target, same as Toth, on Mamool. I never use DK at 100% or at all. I save it for making light SCs at LS events. On soloable mobs, these numbers are amazing, such as Knockout's extra effect. That's a given, but I'm talking about much bigger and badder things. PUP is still very very weak on those safe from the BLM head which can do prety good numbers (400-500 damage nukes on Om'Yovras, Jailers, etc etc)

In merit parties nobody cares about the evasion down when the mob dies in five to ten seconds.

    RR trick?
Yeah, RR = Role Reversal in this case (forgot its usually Reraise). Deactivating for instant zero -> full MP in the middle of a fight isn't dangerous at all now. While I agree that the debuff timers are perfect (-na timers should also be just as fast), its way too overpowered to have unlimited cure IIIs and IVs on a 3s timer with what is basically a bottomless MP bucket. I know people are going to cry foul if they fix it, but honestly if you can't solo without needing 300-400 hp every 3-5s you've got other issues. Right now with a capped Harlewaker, you can basically solo anything that can't one shot you or has Hundred Fists/etc. As fun as it is, there's no way they're going to leave it like that. Hopefully they can find some middle ground with the timers, but knowing SE I doubt it, it will probably just get its single global recast timer back.

PUP/NIN plus Harlewaker is amazing now, but it still feels like I'm cheating, when it goes back to what it was I won't cry, because I'm used to the timing already lol. I think many people will be the same. If not, they're just spoiled.

Scanner is working on the mini-gods he popped without fail

However, she just stared at Kirin and followed him without nuking or enfeebling for a good 1 minute. It could be she was scanning for weakness (she did this with Byakko then just decided to nuke with her highest tier, Fire IV at the time)

Hopefully, this will work better when she is capped. Will try BLM head @ normal gods tomorrow.

For now, using Valoredge and skilling up her melee on Kirin past the merited capped from pre-patch

SE need to fucking fix scanner.

    JoL, BLM Head.

With Scanner, he stood there. For 5 mins. Then ran in, meleed, and casted Blind.

Without it, he would nuke his highest nuke (Water IV) which, may I add, with Drachen roll, did a constant awesome 36 damage. Even with 3 Ice manouvers. Woo hoo

    What the fuck?
