You're right, but it's all a matter of perspective.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
Lets say there are 4 levels to the "goodness" of a job that depends mainly on gear.
1. You fucking suck
2. average
3. above average, very good
4. Magnanimously exceptional (E.body Ridill magnitude)
My "average" DRG shouldn't be able to match up with my "above average" WAR. However, if my DRG was "above average" like my WAR, then I'd be completely fine with it. There is no conclusive evidence that this is true so far, because all we've pretty much seen is raw numbers and minimal comparisons, combined with the fact that the update hasn't even been integrated for a whole day yet. However, the raw numbers that we are seeing are beginning to lean toward the suggestion and application that people like Ryko, Wafik, and myself are talking about.
I'm all for job equality, that way, if I want to make an exp party, I have a lot more jobs to choose from, or, certain endgame fights can be done in different manners, but on a more personal level, and I know I'm not the only one that feels this way, It doesn't seem like things have been balanced; rather, they've been knocked somewhat out of proportion. Do I think things should go back to the way they were? Hell no, but at the same time things should be properly balanced.
For some reason Germany during WWII pops in to my mind. Their economic problems were not fixed by them just printing more and more money, it just made them worse. It's the same way I feel about the job adjustments; you can't just fix every problem by just dumping a whole lot of good things on it, without considering all the factors involved.
Also, if you derail this thread in to a discussion about Germany's economic position in WWII, I will use my Mod powers to the fullest to make your life a living hell.
Heil Zeid!
From the perspective of somebody who people told 'you cant merit unless you level MNK or WAR', I find it a bit bizarre what's going on atm. I really think we should calm down until things get a bit more conclusive. No matter what anybody says, nothing a DRK can get can equal the raw power of a BB or Ridill.
I'm kind of surprised there are no "melee SMN vs. melee RDM -- a serious discussion" topics yet.![]()
Uh yeah, so about those items?
Sword Strap is apparently from ODS, do people know where Pole Strap and Claymore Grip are from?
pole and claymore are from ods as well
Ok, heres an honest question. My mule is on ToAU 30-31, the one with the lamias with the nasty enpoison. What job do you think I have a better chance of beating it on ?? taru rdm teamed with a pimped out thf/nin or AH war/nin (or sam lol) using Byakkos or Fort Axe ?? Because I am seriously considering getting my AH war to attempt this fight.
For those who missed it in the mass retardation it was posted in the middle of.Originally Posted by Greyheim
Yes, we know where Pole and Claymore drops from now. There's the post of the proof. Sword, Pole, and Claymore all drop from ODS and have a decent drop rate at that.
Sorry to reiterate, but figured I'd pull the post up from the depths to get this back on track. >>;
I'm still curious about whether Sword strap affects TP gain at all. Anyone have one they can test with real quick?
I believe Bagel tested it and it does decrease TP gain.Originally Posted by Turin
It does. 15% TP per swing dropped to 14% when I equipped it.Originally Posted by ringthree
Also, currently 3/3 on Grips (2 Sword, 1 Pole).
Got two more runs to do!
*EDIT* 5/5 on Grips, 1/4 on Serket Ring. 3 Sword, 1 Pole, 1 Claymore.
Thanks, I guess Pole/Claymore Grip ftw then.
Any chance they just drop from all KS30 (or most?) and not just ODS?
Quick test on the Platinum Grip shows, for me at least, a 6.75% Proc rate on stun.
Sample of 400 swings, misses and killing blows not included (I assumed that the Stun wouldn't proc if the mob died, much like an en-spell), used a Soboro and the mobs were TW from around the Mee Deggi spawn.
Data below if you're interested:
Edit: Split the lines of data instead of just copy-paste out of my notepad, as requested belowCode:O--------------------------------------O-------------------O--------O------------O-----O------------- ---O--------O--------------O-----O------------O-----------O---O------------------------O--------O-- -O--------------------------O--------O-------O---------------O----O----------O-O-------------------- ------------O--------------O---------------------------O-------------------------------------------O O = proc - = not proc <.< 400 swings 27 Procs
Well, it's been posted, but yeah, just got a Sword Grip earlier to check it out, turned my 504 Byakko's into a 490~ delay Byakko's, but that's still 3% more DoT right?
Any idea what the goldsmithing cap on platinum grips is?
damn man. edit that so it doesn't break the page table by a mile. please? my browser will thank you for it!Originally Posted by Dak Rey
