I dissagree with you for a few reasons. First, the HNMs war benefit from are very old and very easy. WARs with Fafhogg gear aren't the best, because of their bottomless well of FFXI knowledge or their unmatched FFXI skills. Just their ability to do a mind-numbing, repetitive task retardedly, long periods of time. The fact you wasted so much time on it is, needless to say, your own fault.Originally Posted by Ryko
Secondly, WAR can use 2handed weapons too.
Lastly, WARs still have both provoke and utsusemi, the champions of FFXI.
Think his post whooshed you.Originally Posted by Stolin

Maybe now I can actually attend events on my DRG and not every single one on my RDM. Maybe we will get toned down a little, but to tone it down to the point we are below Mnk and War again isn't the answer.
You mean elaborate? <_<illuminate
I think he's talking about a guy on his server who got polearm recently in his post.
Well read?
It's not like 3 word answered it, there are 2 or 3 posts explaining why I see it the way I do.

I rarely go out to merit anymore, my faf sword gets more use in 30 second zergs than it does in in months of not exping. The sudden loss of my ridill's supershinyness in comparison to what I gained as an HNM DD really doesn't personally bug me that much.
Actually no Ukko didn't even come to mind lol, guy's never been the type to be rude or anything (even in arguments) even though I'm sure he probably doesn't think highly of me.Originally Posted by Lordwafik

Well it's on this page, my point was I don't like the idea that I busted my ass gearing a bunch of melees to the teeth only so some gimp can skate by (understatement) with some dex rings and an osode.
That doesn't mean they aren't gimp, someone who intentionally claims tries to "skate by" in an Osode instead of getting a Haubergeon, will always be a gimp. Its not as bad as it used to be, but its same mindset as someone who sold a Snipers and wore Venerer, its still fucking gimp.
That's nice but relatively they're still better off in an osode today than they were in a haub yesterday and they get some gil out of it so what does it matter to them if they're still doing 2-3x the damage they were pre-patch?Originally Posted by Sasarai
True, but they'd still be better off in a Haub today than an Osode today. If someone wants to sell their Haub and full time Osode, good for them, someone who works their ass off to keep both is better. Even if its just minimal parser results and epeen.
Why is being better off in an osode that bad? Its harder to get than a hauby is.
Hardest item to get in the game is a spelunker's hat, does it mean it should be better than an optical (granted that's taking it to a retarded extreme)? One shouldn't be drastically, ridiculously rewarded for having bad sense.Originally Posted by Stolin
I don't fully understand what the gripe is about. A better difficulty/reward ratio? How is it bad sense to be using an osode full time when using a 2hander than a hauby after this update?Originally Posted by Ryko

Because the haub's still better? Also we're 3 and a half years into the game now, kirin isn't hard. I'd say it's a grander feat for a DD to be not stupidly geared than to have a kirin title nowadays.Originally Posted by Stolin
Honestly, when a mob died in 3 seconds (and I'm not exaggerating), you don't spend a lot of MP curing.
