It didn't have all the emotion of CoP (cause it was short and easy), but in terms of how "epic" the story is it's almost as high. It's in between RoZ and CoP, closer to CoP overall IMO.Originally Posted by Avé

I'm starting to feel that way, too.Found something very interesting. The 2nd and 3rd RR of the Blu will have immunity to whatever damage form you used the most. We brought a blm PT to the boss fight, and we killed 1st form easily, after the first rr, stun and sleep started getting resisted. We still managed to kill him, however, on 3rd form, he has complete magic immunity.
I tried this last night with 3 BLM, 2 RDM and PLD. After hearing how on the 3rd form, it went physical immune, we figured to toss some BLM nukes on it.
1st form was cake. 2nd form started to resist spells a little more and its Eyes on Me was doing anywhere from 500-1700 dmg. But, no one had trouble sleep-nuking. 3rd form was 100% magic resistant. Dead-end.
So, I'm leaning towards that its either:
1) Kill-shot determines immunity for form3.
2) Majority of damage type determines immunity for form3.
Either of those sound likely because he says:Originally Posted by loial

"My skin remembers the fires of ten thousand spells. Come, burn me again..."
or
"My belly remembers the punctures of ten thousand arrows. Come, shoot me again..."
Since he says "again" it sounds like it's either majority or killshot like you said.

Interesting info, we did it PLD/NIN, SAM/WAR, BLM/WHM x2, BRD/WHM, WHM/SMN. 3rd form of the small one was sleep nuked to dead, i recall the BLM getting the killshot on the second form, not too sure, so its probably by the most damage done. Since we did not really nuke at all on the first two forms.
Big one can be stunned no problem thru all of the fight, i do believe Holy 2 fires regardless of stun (once stun wears), i stunned right before he fired Holy2, but the spell went off when stun wore. Rest of spells was np.
Yeah, the BLU defintly does something funny resistances.
Took 3 attempts to beat the BC last night.
Attempt 1:
NIN, MNK, RDM, BLM, BLU, WHM
Flow: BLU 1st -> Beat Machine down to 50% -> BLU 2nd -> BLU 3rd (Phys Immune)
Ended up wiping to Final Boss due to to poor stratagy.
Attempt 2
DRK, RDM, BRD, BLMx3
Flow: BLU 1st (Manaburn) -> BLU 2nd (Manaburn) -> BLU 3rd (Magic Immune)... wipe, was impossible for us to beat him.
NOTE: Eyes on Me was doing 2k+ damage to us on 3rd RR when we went this path...
Attempt 3(Win)
DRK, RDM, BRD, BLU, BLMx2
Flow: BLU 1st (limited magic use against) -> beat Machine down to 50% -> BLU 2nd (limited magic use against)-> BLU 3rd (Phys Immune)
Beat Final Boss on this attempt with ease... outside of a wipe due to the ability he uses at 50% rocking muiltple party members. BLU primarly tanked.
Hmmm...did anyone else finish up the previous set of missions (Birdy fight+CSes) last night, and then try to get the teahouse CS today? The last CS i did was at Naja's where Ayame and them show up. Did I miss one?
Edited for clarity
i believe you need to talk to Naja right after she tolds you to gtfo, might need to zone.
That or i dont understand your post.

Throughout the course of this phase, you will be given questions in Qiqirn language and you have to respond (multiple choice) with the correct reply...in Qirirn, of course.
Phase 3 : Battle Knowledge
Rock-Paper-Scissors gameplay with Pokemon-style battles between you and the opponent. Although there are 5 opponents, you will only be fighting 4 of them.
Your choices are : Beetle, Crab, Ghost
Weakness order:
Beetle beats Crab
Crab beats Ghost
Ghost beats Beetle
Opponent 1:
His choices: Crab>Ghost (I think, I winged this part)
Opponent 2: Crab>Crab>Crab>Ghost>Ghost>Ghost (When they say "changing strategy," that's when they switch to ghost.
Opponent 3: Beetle>Crab>Beetle>Ghost (repeat starting from Beetle). This opponent will cure himself everytime you get him below 4 points to win. So the objective is to have the outcome to "Draw" then get him in the final moment.
So choose: Ghost>Beetle>Ghost>Crab>Beetle>Crab>Beetle>Ghost>G host. That should kill him off.
Opponent 4: They will use Crab, so you use Beetle. (That's what they used when I did it, it may change...I don't know, need confirmation on this).
When you finish, return the next game day to Abquhbah at 15:00 for the graduation ceremony. Congratulations.

the goblin footprint is inside the F-6 bhaflau thickets entrance to the ruins. You can also listen to the music again in the CS, just dont click to go on with the text lol
Please explain how Accuracy+6 Attack+3 is OMGFUCKINGAMAZING but Accuracy+4 Attack+4 (Acc+8 Att+8 in Salvage) sucks ass.Originally Posted by Khajit
Yeah, the rings aren't that amazing but they're really not that bad. I'm going to be using it until I get a Divisor/Toreador ring.Originally Posted by divisortheory
Did the two final BC's with the following set-up: PLD, WAR, WAR, BLM, BRD, WHM
The BLU and single gears were simple. We had the PLD go in and flash the BLU then the BLM slept it while the PLD and BLM kited 2 of the gears while the 2 WARs solo'd a gear each then moved on to the 2 kited gears and finally the BLU down to 30-ish%.
We rested to full then moved on to the BLU and triple gears where the same strat worked, but the AoE's were a pain.
We got lucky with the Soulflayer when it did tribulation only once at the end.
On the final BC, the BLU was squishy for the first 2 fights but on the last fight he decided to be magic resistant. We had the BLM slowly nuke him down to 30% and then had the BLM "zerg" him the rest of the way with the PLD covering him. After he died we rested again.
We got the brother down with ease then moved on to Alexander where he was spamming AoE's. Shadows wouldn't stay up and we decided to keep 1 WAR and the PLD in there to save mp on the healing. When the first WAR went down, the second WAR replaced him. Eventually we were running out of MP and the first WAR came out of weakness and we finally killed it, but not after it killed 4 out of 6 of us. The first WAR saved the day with his final rampage @ 2%.
Nice cutscenes, crappy rewards, but it was worth it and it was a good fight.
Should've had the PLD stand outside of melee range, and the warriors stand far away from him while attacking. They won't get hit with AOE's unless they take hate.
You can Bind Raubabhn, and he sleeps like a baby if Lullabied. What we did was simply have a BLM nuke him down and naptime the BLU between spells.Originally Posted by vagus
Now, that 2nd mob...down to 8% and spammed recovery back to 26%, ran low on MP to keep folks up and ended up hitting fireflies with no MP, no Convert left, and 3/6 PT KOed for good. With meds, we'd have had him in one go.
I actually evaded 2 of those AoE TP moves....as an RDM/BLM. All I had +Evasion was Yigit Gages and feet, with capped (lol) RDM evasion skill.Originally Posted by Funkworkz
So yeah, it might be worth trying.
How difficult would Mission 42 be to trio? We've been able to do everything else so far and we were wondering if there was a huge difference in difficulty between this battle and Gessho.
If this is possible, would you Sleep the boss, and kill all four gears, focusing again on the boss after they've been defeated? From what I read, the third portion is rather straightforward, so I'm more worried about the beginning.
