Wow i really wanna watch that CS again, epic...
Our setup was Pld/nin(me), Blu(tonko), Brd(Laelani), Rdm(mog), Drk(fryte), Blm(Kuno) and we pretty much owned it. With a Pld/nin tanking it is fairly easy with double march and haste. It's a long fight but thats about it, no wiping, won from start to finish.
We wiped twice in the BC and still won.Originally Posted by vagus

Final boss fight:
Kill the small guy three times. He has a powerful spell and WS, he reraises each death and 3rd time he'll take 0 damage, though it glitched our last attempt and we could still do melee damage.
Take big guy to 50%, cutscene.
Final boss act like it's JoL. You can stay out of melee range and simply get spammed by his shadow ignoring light based attack. As PLD/WAR with no -damage at all (my pld is gimp lol) it hit for 439 each time with Shellra V on. The attack he spams has a decent sized radius around the target, so other people should stay away from the tank. Has pretty high defense and magic defense from what I saw, but you can chip him down eventually, though you need to be able to out damage his 1-1.2k heal tp move he'll do every 30s or so (rough estimate, I was more concerned with staying alive).
Our setup was:
PLD/WAR
BLM/RDM x2
BRD/WHM
BLU/NIN
WHM/SMN
Healing was sketchy at times because of lack of MP, but the BLM's helped out as needed and so we killed fairly slow but stayed alive. Twice he used Divine Judgement, which seems to be a much larger radius AOE centered around himself. Hit me for 1292 and the BLU for 954 (I think Diamondhide was up) and killed me at 3%. He seems to use one around 50% like a 2 hour, then one right before death. Bard had trouble ballading everyone because we were spread out (WHM wanted to stay away from BLM's since they took hate sometimes, BLU was alone meleeing, no one wanted to be near me, so 4 groups to ballad) so RDM would've been much better. Mob can be stunned, don't know if he builds resistance.
Going back to my earlier tips, RDM/WHM could be the best tank (does /whm offer a second magic defense bonus?) otherwise /pld simply for auto refresh. You'll constantly be taking magic damage so you can just spam heals on yourself. Mob will not draw you in (though he can, but you're safe just outside of his melee range) or move. Paladin is a good tank, if you have Aegis it should be a cake fight IMO, Ninja is pretty useless. Come with the refresh to keep the tank and a healer full on MP and you're set, someone else will have to post about which DD's are best.
1% timed out... 0/1
Tips for those doing second fight.
BLU pwns.
SMN pwns.
Going again.
BCG update, FINALLY beat it.
I think they all have patterns, but I'm not 100% sure.
VP's is I think a rotation, my Chat log is too full for me to go all the way back and check
The pair has another pattern, I think one guy does something, other guy does something else, not positive again.
Drill Sergent goes: Beetle-->crab-->ghost-->crab-->beetle (up and down the list, never loops)
Final boss picked Crab both times for me.

For NIN tank, what do you suggest on the final fight?
They do have a pattern. Once you nail that it's easy. The Drill Seargenat was the hardest for me because he kept curing himself. I finally figured out that I have to tie him until the bomb is 4 explosions, then do him off in one hit.Originally Posted by Xanthu

Has anyone tried CS Stun zerg?
Can anyone try the reward in Salvage and see if it works? I think it will, but just wanna make sure![]()
SMN has no hate exchange and took 2% off nearly each BP.Originally Posted by Draylo
BLU can stun lock most of the eyes on me from first form and cannonball is pretty sweet long range damage with no hate to you as you pin to tank.
I need a refresher course... I can't get into the palace because my attire isn't presentable... I took off weapons, no dice... what's acceptable?
Look up ToAU mission 17, 18, or 19 on the wiki, can't remember exactly which. One of those around there gives a full list.Originally Posted by Francisco II
Quick! we are about to go in! Anyone test CS Stun or any idea on how a NIN tank would work? Can you stand right outside the melee range and do okay?

This tractor thing is BS... we were going to win, but now... fuck...
