I still have a hard time raising my ratio on Oink since everything all the files are relatively small and there doesn't seem to be anything that's really wanted that you can just serve a lot and abuse it in order to raise the ratio up... have no trouble with Demonoid or Blackcats, but I can't raise my oink one past 0.6/7...

Oink is by far the hardest torrent site to get ratio on, and I'm a member of a lot of private torrent sites. There's really two ways to get your ratio up on oink, you camp the newly released torrents and wait for one that has a lot of requests (500+ or so). This is usually something like a leaked tom waits album (god I hate tom waits) or shins album, and then you jump on that torrent in the first half hour or so. The other way is to keep downloading, but constantly seed everything you've ever downloaded from oink for months. If you check my account on oink, you can usually see my seeded torrents list constantly around 30-40 torrents large, and a friend of mine is constantly seeding 100+ torrents.

Oink should come up with a seeding system just like BC. I snatched a Muse album (80 mg worth of songs) and kept seeding that shit for a whole month and it was able to ul 2 mb lol, wtf? The torrent was semi-popular too. Anyways, I guess if I want to increase my ratio I'll have to camp for Britney Spears, Timbaland and shit ;/ (or maybe not ;o

Thank God I'm not the only one having Oink ratio troubles. On all my other private torrent sites I'm over 2.4, but Oink is just painful (fucking amazing site though). Currently sitting at .2, and debating whether I should snatch-n-seed some newer torrents. Thing is, I can barely 1:1 it before it's no longer popular (thus not helping me in any way).

Best way to get a high ratio:

Download popular things as soon as they posted
Have a good upload speed (if yours is slow, the person downloading will download much more and much faster from someone else, completeing it sooner, meaning you don't seed as much)
