Might as well post this here now too. But I think there is now a general consensus that there is some fundamental error in almost all the damage calculations in the game right now. So all of this is probably going to change when they fix it.

it looks like the second most important change (STR=ATT DEX=ACC) is staying put though.

That is exactly what he was proving. Switching /THF, /WAR, and /NIN around on a job that naturally has the highest Attack Bonus available is only going to change base stats.

Yes, I would think so, but with how fundamentally things are messed up right now I wouldn't be surprised by anything that happens.

We took that to mean that they were talking about the statistic "Attack" but it can be easily read as the more general "attack benefits" which could be attack, accuracy or any number of things. Also it pluralizes "attribute scores" indicating they were talking about more than one, so not just STR alone.

Of course this is an interpretive reading of a translated document which has its own limitations.

I would agree that this is potentially a bug IF
    1) all jobs had a STR/ATT DEX/ACC issue
or 2) all stats on 2hand had a STAT=bonus issue

since both are conspicuously missing (easily verified with any 1h weapon and checking Vit->def conversion) it's a rather easy conclusion that this is wholly intended by SE.

which is why I said what I did

Oh, I wasn't disagreeing, just providing more evidence to support that notion.

I think it should be changed to mobs that don't give exp. Someone noticed in salvage that they reached the damage cap, but I didn't take screenshots since I have that filtered...to prove that NMs have an attack cap, I tested it...oh and souleater does add damage past the damage cap (shoulda been obvious but I wanted to make sure)

Was hitting the Boreal hound for 658 Normal and 658 Crits (329 actual, +100% dmg taken right?) so thats a higher level mob with the cap it seems.

I doubt 329 is the actual damage since it's not divisible by 3
