The whole point of 2h supremacy now is to break into the 2.5 pdif range. And you won't see that without meat (and definitely don't need sushi).

It's not a fair parse if different weapons cap at different points but you purposely suppress attack so that the caps don't come into play.
you can rest assured i will food up the entire time if i am at a mamool camp. Food will be passive and it will be fair.

Blame the people taking up all the spots and i had to settle for Colibri-loves-all-your-food

unless you want me to bring 5 stacks of meat for 3 hr, and hopefully we can keep the same food supply throughout, making it fair.

On colibri third eye is almost as good as /nin since all their tp moves are physical and non-aoe so it does not wipe third eye or become an mp sink like on mamool because of firespit. Also when I do ls pts, the monks do sub warr since they die so fast with 2x ridill warr + monk/warr.

Re: GAxe vs Axe vs Sword Parse results.

i suggest you guys who are complaining about dmg mitigation in merit pts to get 2 merited 2hers(sam drk or war) and go pt at mamool staging point. while before patch it would have been a complete mp sink without nin sub, right now everything dies so damn fast it doesnt matter. and dont throw that "mnk/war before patch was the same" at me, because i've pted with them as a whm in a 3support pt so i know how fast they can go.

i have never cleared mobs at mamool north camp this fast before. we were literally doing mamool north+mamool middle(all the wivres) and pulling some of the puks from south too. thats how fast mobs were dying. this was with nin war drk drk rdm brd pt with the non-nins all using 2hers.

hnm on the other hand is another story, /nin still wins because you cant do dmg when third eye runs out and you die.

Really as long as you have a brain, some common sense, and knowledge of timing Third Eye correctly... Using Seigan full time you don't sponge much at all. Especially if you take the extra effort to make some cheap set of gear to fall back on if worse comes to worse.

I've been tanking the majority of exp/dynamis/limbus/salvage/etcetcetc as SAM for almost a year now and really it's not hard to Seigan tank without killing the MP pool. Only time it gets really bad is when you try to use Hasso too.

Re: GAxe vs Axe vs Sword Parse results.

if you're a war (or maybe even drk too) do yourself a favor and get a fortitude axe or bring yours out of storage. like fast.

8/8 gaxe with fortitude torque using a 6-hit haste/dex build and im tearing shit up. its a nice change of pace from relic. im wsing twice nearly every fight in a 2brd pt doing an avg of around 7-800dmg per ws(need a parser to be real sure) with a high of ~1600 so far using raging rush.

i'm pretty sure a 6hit build is overkill for this because i use my ws right at 100% only about half the time, all the other times i get an extra 1-2hits in. i need to do the math later but i think a /nin with 7hit build including sword strap and red curry would do more dmg than my current setup.

Yeah, we need a parse of Fort/RUNE CHOPPA asap. Inquiring minds want to know: Fort Axe = Ridill+1? GET TO IT!

anyway lets drop this "you retard this, you suck that, you dont know this, you did that wrong" bullshit

after this patch 1 thing still stands:

    MELEES MERIPO FTW

i guess after all this shit, BLM SMN still no room in Melee Burn meripo PT?

or SE's 2H fix also urge mages to pull out their staffs? >.>

i go BLM/SAM and seek PT now, brb with exciting and really useful parse results

With Love Halberd on Imps and Flies, was hitting for 190-250 2-3x per attack round, 1.5kPenta Thrusts(2k+ with Mezraq), double/triple attack like mad. If I had Homam corazza I could technically quadra attack. Still doing 200-400 Jumps as well.

DRG/WAR with Love Halberd= New Ridill WAR? Although no shadows=die fast D:

How many people are actually going to do this, honestly. During limbus last night, everyone went into Hasso/MP sponge +1 mode. After just 10 minutes, the mages were already making comments about taking much more damage than normal. What your classic WAR/NIN still has is better damage migration. This may be a new age of DRG/SAM(all over again) and DRK/SAM. Seigan full time so you don't get your ass beat. This way you can still benefit from store TP and meditate. Still won't block AoE like Utsusemi...

Yeah, this is why I still see subbing /NIN as pretty viable in a lot of situations, especially with the update increasing our base attack significantly even without berserk. For me it comes down to this, would I rather have Berserk or full-time 10% haste? Granted its a case-by-case decision and sometimes the mobs will die so fast that any defensive traits are moot.

    edit: On SAM main i mean, guess I should include that detail -_-;

This is like /SAM vs /DRG from over 1 year ago.

/DRG was the winner, even /WAR was a better choice over just 60% TP every 3 min and Store TP trait.

The reason to sub /SAM is Hasso, 10% Haste, that's what it is all about, Seigan is an oh shit option, and if you are going to use Seigan full time just to get TP in 5 hits instead of 6 after WS, then might as well just do /NIN and abuse of Absorb-TP (that always should be done, but not a very good option w/o shadows doing Colibris).

Well yeah, the damage migrates away from the player while Utsusemi is up, and migrates back towards the player when Utsu is down.

serious question- are you saying STR > DEX/ACC for TP'ing with GA?
it breaks every rule we've held sacred, but i could see it working with the huge new ACC bonus we get naturally now.

Rules change. 2H DD is now all about pushing as much attack as humanly possible.

I don't really understand your points in this paragraph.

    1) Whether people actually choose to use Seigan full time isn't a fault of the utility of Seigan, but a fault of the players that decide they'd rather see more epeen damage as opposed to being more MP efficient. It's really no different from the WAR/NINs, MNK/NINs, and NINs that you PT with on occasion that never use anything other than Ni, and hell you'll even get some that don't cast shadows during fights period.

    2) There really isn't much damage mitigation available to all of WAR, DRK, and DRG jobs alike. They're all on about equal footing unless you're a Koenig WAR willing to swap into full Koenig and pop Defender. Only gear that really helps to make a difference when your natural defense is like 200 or less though is -% damage taken, which is available equally to all of those jobs.

    3) If you're going to mention a disadvantage of Third Eye it's only fair to mention all of them as well as the advantages. And, regardless, that's one of the smaller disadvantages since Utsesumi only absorbs some AoE.

    Third Eye Advantages over Utsesumi:
    1) It's instant use.
    2) Can potentially absorb more attacks in a row than Utsesumi. Highest I've personally seen in a row was 34.
    3) Is the best defensive counter for fast attacking mobs/mobs using Hundred Fists. (other than maybe Sentinel)
    4) Absorbs multi-hit TP attacks in one absorb.
    5) Absorbs some TP attacks that Utsesumi does not.
    6) Remains up after some AoE attacks that clear Utsesumi.
    7) The recast timer of Third Eye is not effected by slow, and haste isn't required to assist in its use.
    8) Does not require tools or the ability to cast spells.
    9) Can potentially result in damage to the mob.

    Third Eye Disadvantages over Utsesumi:
    1) Does not work during Amnesia, or without the ability to use JAs.
    2) Does not absorb single target magic spells (although typically the easiest way to counter this is using Gekko).
    3) The duration Third Eye stays active is typically unpredictable.
    4) Using Third Eye correctly tends to be more difficult?
    5) If the Third Eye duration wears off early, you're basically naked until the timer is back up.
    6) Haste has no effect on the recast.

Think I covered everything, feel free to add.

But, in any case the point being that it can in fact work as an effective replacement for Utsesumi. There are rather significant advantages and disadvantages to using both as well. And personally as an aside, I think SAM/NIN is just pointless.

i agree with Rkenshin, i've been playing WAR/SAM since the update and i don't feel like i'm any more of an MP sink than i was /NIN. anticipating Rushing Drabs and Fang Rushes is too good 8)
