If that is the case, that can explain why SAM are saying that their overwhelm is doing more than SA WS. Obviously a 100 fix damage won't be as much as a 15% increase on a 1k WS.

    Someone test it plz.

Side note, perhaps SE wants drk to /war to cap Attack to 999 and ground strike at 300% now instead of /thf lol.
Maybe they just made it so SA and TA are modified by DEX and AGI when used by THF subjob. Did she, by any chance, happen to have exactly 100 DEX?
Was wondering the same thing. Let me ask.

    Re: New Damage Formula

I thought I saw in the other thread that the Apoc crit with /SA was exactly 103dmg higher than what it should have been?

Kalia - 345 may be correct, wasn't trying to overbuff myself ;p

999ATK is rediculously easy to obtain now as a DRK.

    Re: New Damage Formula

I was capping against lvl 20ish Quads just inside Beadeaux for 327 with a Dmg 94 Byakko's Axe, 66+19 Str, crit, normal hit, never varied once.

Also, it looks like Mighty Strikes got a subtle nerf for 2h at least, I haven't noticed a single "zomg" Raging Rush or Steel Cyclone with MS up that wasn't comparable to one I'd gotten without it.

I think thats more because you're hitting your cap, not a nerf to MS.

Its like having a 200mph ferrari, and a 80 mph school bus. If we buff up the school bus to go 200mph, the ferrari didn't get nerfed, just that the difference between the two isn't as big, or nonexistant.

Well, I did two back to back besiegeds, mobs ranging from Mamool Lizards (one which I solo zerged to death, <3 the new refilling items, just spammed Raging Rush/Meditate/Revitalizer/Dwing/etc til it stopped fighting back) to Hydra and Khimaira, none of my 2hred Raging Rushes stood out as zomg different from the normal ones (same tp return being compared btw) it was pretty weird.

I got used to Raging Rush REALLY jumping with MS up, and now it is almost underwhelming since it's just so good the rest of the time.

    Re: New Damage Formula

people are overstating the power of the str/att dex/acc relationships, IMO the damage formula was changed in other ways probably related to pDIF variance, and that's why 2H weapons are hitting so hard now.

    Re: New Damage Formula

With SV minuets + Berserk I was hitting for 315 every single swing, regardless of if it was a critical hit, on Puks/Mamools/Skoffins alike. I was also hitting the same exact damage for Kaiten during that time, of 1878... Which could help to figure out the new WS equation?

Without SV minuets I'd hit 315 rather often for melee damage as well, and also that 1878 'cap' on Kaiten.

    Re: New Damage Formula

What Rukenshin posted in the WS specific thread regarding double attacks makes it fairly clear that the theory of preserved non 1.0 fTP on Double Attacks is not true, Kaiten missing the 1st hit but landing DA only would do a ton more than 400 damage if that DA kept its full fTP value. They also certainly didn't make any such change to DK (sub hit/DAs are still 1.0), which isn't two-handed but was in the list of modified WS, only did summary testing but it looks like they increase fTP on it by 0.5 all around from the few shots I took.

I haven't see anyone post any test data on ratio vs cRatio using 2handed weapons (through /c and parsing). The wording of SE's update notes still strongly suggests that a modification to level correction for two-handed attack was applied on top of everything, and that would certainly explain (partially) the ability to pull off ridiculous numbers on Fafnir, since level correction wouldn't tamper with the newly improved base/buffed attack value.

In other words, complete utter insanity.

    @ This year's FanFest

Developer: See AV really wasn't that hard at all, just had to throw melees with 2h weapons at it.

    Post FanFest

Developer: Hmmm, the update might be a bit too strong. (readies nerf bat).

    THE END
