orochi doesnt have any helpers
They are untargetable at first but can be killed after he "summons" them in the fight. Hydras "helper" is his new move where he turns sideways and tries to flail you I guess.Originally Posted by Uzor
Is there a typo, or is MNK unable to use any one of the FL appraised items?
haha no they're just proving the old adage 'MNK gets nothing'Originally Posted by Almalexia

Goldemar down today PLD/NIN 2x SAM/NIN RDM WHM BRD
Besides his almost instant -GA3s and his MACC + MDEF down move he started using an AOE curse move. It seemed that you are able to turn around there sicne it has a long chargeup. He also did some strange screaming around that all of a sudden made all our melee intimidated all over the screen.
??? Earring > Silver Earring but guess that makes Carline Earring very likely.
We did a few FL assault with 5-6 people, and here are what we found out.
Susanoo Shuffle: lolhydra, standard hydra attack, and at some point message will show up notifying he's thrashing about, just hold him and don't TP him when that happen, otherwise it's standard hydra fight strategy.
Bloody Rondo: Count Dracula
Uses the following TP move:
Nocturnal Servitude: Conal AoE Charm, turn the target into single bat. Make sure tank/melee are standing not too close to each other.
Wings of Gehenna: shadow wiping, ~300-400 damage, AoE stun
Eternal Damnation: Doom, same as mortal ray, might be possible to avoid by breaking eye contact, didn't try though.
Some AoE drain move, forgot the name. do 200-300ish damage AoE
Some single target multihit WS, forgot the name.
He's a DRK type, so he'll cast all DRK spells. Immune to dark, can be bound and move at player speed so kiting him is possible when your tanks are down/charmed.
At 50% or so, he'll say something, and a cursed doppleganger will be summoned. Have about the same stat as whoever has hate and cloned, but isn't really a huge issue, since the HP will be fairly low.
The only hard part about him is if you walked in without holy waters, since waiting for cursna on doom might end up with you dying horribly. Just need a sleeper for nocturnal servitude, and probably 2 tanks for best to handle charm/doppleganger.
The Price is Right: King Goldemar
Uses the following WS:
Hellclap: knockback, possibly conal or single target about 500-700 damage.
Necropurge: AoE curse/paralyze
Something that knockback and just curse...forgot the name
Thunderous Shirk: AoE damage 400s, weak terror.
Something that lowers Mdef, MATK and MACC...forgot the name, but once your tank complain about this, make sure to note and set stunner to stun this move and erase ASAP.
King Goldemar is a BLM type, upon engaging/aggroing, he'll summon assorted animated weapon around him. He can't be silenced, can be stunned, can't be elegied, and can only be dispelled with light base dispel.
He has pretty broken fastcast, so unless your stunner are like RDM/DRK with fast cast gear, it might be hard to stun his gaspells. His ga spell does like 700 damage AoE, which isn't fatal, but the problem is that he spams WS that will either half your tank HP with curse, or lowers magic defense to a point that his -ga spell will be extremely dangerous.
He takes minimal damage from magic attack, ele sealed Burst II did like 200 damage to him, so melee damage is the way to go.
At 50% he will say something, and one of the weapons will become active, it's best at this point to have someone take care of that. The weapon seem to have fairly low HP, and magical damage lands for full damage to them.
Also, at this point, he will start using the Thunderous Shirk, and he will build intimidation effect like gration. The intimidation seem to gradually get stronger as his HP goes lower, I would say around 50% by the time he get 10% HP, but I was dead for the later half of the fight.
The bastard has pretty crappy defense from being a BLM though.
Our setup was NIN/WAR, MNK/NIN, BRD/WHM, WHM/SMN, RDM/WHM for Hydra and Dracula, then we picked up a BLM/RDM for Goldemar.
Status cure seem to be pretty damn significant for these fights, so I would recommend going in with at least 1 status curer per melee.
The Count has 2 AoE drains: one is HP, one is status effects.
To add to this, every time he does the status drain move, he summons a Doppleganger, which means its TP based and not % based. At least, that's what it seemed like to us. It might also just be time based, but I didn't observe enough to tell, but he summoned about 5 of them in our fight. We got him to about 65-70% before the first one, then he summoned relatively often after that, once right after the one I was killing died. We were killing slower after that due to Doom/Charm/etc.Originally Posted by Almalexia
King Goldemar...blm not too useful on him. Lost once with NIN DRK BLU BRD WHM BLM
He has crazy magic defense. As a not very merited rdm I can land gravity once in a while but otherwise all other debuffs get regularly resisted. His blaze spikes can only be dispelled by Finale pretty much.
Best setup is pld 2 melee rdm brd whm in my opinion. I doubt anyone can zerg this with 3 either. The <50% aoe terror is just plain bad.
There are a few weapons...Axe, Staff(Casts sleepga), Rod, Shield(High physical def), Dagger. 1 tier 4 nuke takes out about 15-20% if unresisted but it varies with mob so I think HP is around 4K each. Gravity lands all the time. He will give a small speech when he summons them and will name the weapon in his speech so you can go straight after them. Kite the boss while you kill the weapons.
My group cleared with NIN DRK BLU BRD WHM BLM. Hate control goes haywire with the terror going off so frequently. Better bring a pld or rdm with a good amount of magic defense.
With my setup...its 30 min of pure nightmare + excitement. I actually have a sense of achievement on this but I am never going again.
We got ??? Earrings from the box and it gave us a bone earring.
Ah...it only happened once in our fight, and I must've missed the stat drain, but it does makes sense.Originally Posted by Wizerd

After I looked at some JP shouts their Assaults have some different names. The people that translate stuff to English seem to try to be very funny with it. Red VS Blue already was a completely NA only joke - the JP got something boring.
The Price Is Right (King Goldemar) = ???????? = "Killerlord Fight"
Better than One (Cerb) = ??????? = "Heracles Fight"
Bloody Rondo (Vampire) = ??????? = "Hellsing Fight"
lol @ the Hellsing part![]()
I've only done the Dracula and King Goldemar Assaults so far (won both (b^^)b) but it seems that you don't lose exp in the FL assaults if you die as we had someone with capped exp get doomed by Dracula and still had capped exp afterwards.
It's actually the HP drain (Nosferatu's Kiss), Heliovoid is the stat drain.Originally Posted by Zilong
Wow really? That's awesome to know!Originally Posted by Missnasty
Naw, you lose exp. At least my MNK did when he got doomed.Originally Posted by Forbidden16
