    Re: Tier10 Assault

we did cerb again last nite. 0/4 now
    nin/war, drk/thf, blm/rdm, rdm/whm, brd/whm, whm/blm.

elms popped at 100, rdm kited for 15 minutes before they depopped. We ran out of time mostly because we had no dds for several periods. (blm died like 5 times). i think next time we'll probably zerg it, though part of me wants to kill it the same team that has done all the assaults together.

also we did king again. got the ??? gloves, turned out it was the Breeder Mufflers.

    Re: Tier10 Assault

I've won them all except Dracula (not because we lost it, but because I just haven't tried it yet).

Hydra: Mad easy. Probably easiest one outta them all. We did with 3 Ridill/ebody wars (not that it's required), BRD, RDM, SMN. Nothing really special about this fight. Bring some Holy Waters and Antidotes though.

Khimaira: Ugh, trying to ridill burn this didn't work out so well for us. We won, but it was close. We did PLD/NIN, WAR, WAR, WAR, RDM, SMN (no brd this time which sucked). I thought no WHM would be an instant loss because of Fossilizing Breath, but it only did the move once, and petrify only lasted for about 15-20seconds. Basically I ran in (the PLD) and solo held khim while the DDs killed the goblin. Then we started whacking away @ Khimaira. With 3 Ridills, you can imagine what came next. Two back to back Fulminations killed off all the melees, and I had to two hour to stay alive. Then I held it with no weapon drawn, so it wouldn't do any TP moves. DDs got back up and they kinda went in one at a time. Khimaira would have been far easiest if you treat it like the normal Khimaira. Maybe a couple SAM/THFs doing WSs on Khim then moving outta range. Or getting a little TP then moving outta range. Doesn't really hit all that hard 80-150-ish for me on PLD, but attacks very fast when Slow 2 isn't on. At the end, I died, and only 1 WAR + RDM + SMN were alive. WAR killed it.

King whateverhisnameis: Pretty easy. Did similar setup as to Khimaira (PLD, WAR, WAR, RDM, RDM, SMN). Weapons were easy. The only real hard part of this fight is imo the move where he puts curse on you + paralyze. Annoying annoying annoying. MP was getting low toward the end, but we killed it.

Cerberus: Ehhh. Lost the first time because wasn't sure of the best setup. We went RDM/NIN, WAR, SAM, BRD, BLM, RDM. Eles popped, BLM kited them around until they depop. Still not sure what causes them to depop. Fought it down to about 20%-ish, then our lovely RDM/DRK decided to do that soulcatcher thing on Cerberus to use in Pankration, and as he was doing it, what do ya know, GoH went off at a very bad time which left me with no shadows, nor stoneskin, so I died (not from GoH itself, but from the triple attack after >.>)... It just kinda went downhill from there. Only like two people had RR on as well.

Then, we went again with a diff setup. NIN/WAR, WAR, BRD, RDM, BLM, WHM. A lot of support/mages, and only two DD. It really went a lot smoother imo. Less TP was fed to Cerberus, and it still went down fast. The BLM again kited the two eles that pop close to the mages (opposite tunnel from where you start in) until they depopped. Kept killing it down... It only tried two or three GoHs, but all were stunned. Won very easily.

Just gotta do Dracula next. Which from what I've been reading and what people have told me, it's the easiest of the new assaults.

Our setup was NIN, NIN, BRD, WHM, WAR, BLM

NE of Cerb is a tunnel so at the start of fight the mages piled in to that tunnel. The melee did their best to drag him towards that tunnel. So the fight went on and then the elems popped but they actually didn't aggro anyone since ninjitsu is safe to cast around elems and so is bard singing. There's about 3 that could potentially aggro if they pathed close enough to the mages so the WAR pulled the 3 that were closest to Cerb 1 at a time and the BLM dealt with them rather easily. We were able to bring him down to like 4% and DoT spells brought him to 1% when 5 of the 6 of us were down.
What killed you if it wasn't the elementals? Cerb is weaksauce just like Khim and Hydra. Except GoH is weaker and less dangerous than Fulmination/Nerve Gas. He hits harder but it's managable. Change a NIN to a MNK maybe. MNK is pwn on these Assault versions, same reason they own it Salvage. Good damage, low TP output to the mob, and high HP/VIT/counter etc.
We tried changing a NIN to MNK/NIN yesterday and it worked like a charm. The NIN actually died early so the MNK solo tanked for a decent chunk of time.

When it comes to the elems, we're pretty sure that he howls once to summon them and once he howls again they disappear. A thunder IV followed by a thunder III will kill an elem easily.

    Re: Tier10 Assault

got tired of losing to cerb so we zerged it. 2 sam/war, 2 mnk/nin, brd/whm, rdm/drk. Elms popped immediately again (getting really tired of them) they just ended up disappearing like 20 seconds later. rdm did chainspell stun. got leather bandanna.

For cerberus, have every mage camp in the tunel behind him. Melee can turn cerberus to get closer to healer. Only 1-2 elemental will aggro in that camp, so it's easy to survive. A ninja with mambo and full evade should be able to tank it for a while without healing, and a melee or blm should be able to solo 1 elemental easily.

    Re: Tier10 Assault

I had a go at Cerb last night, camping in the tunnel behind him is definitely the way to go. You also need all melee and tanks to not use any magic. By doing this you can leave most of the eles up, not agroing anyone. There are only 2-3 near the tunnel behind him that you need to take care of. I STRONGLY recommend 2 BLMs to take the eles down fast, stun GoH, and to nuke from afar.

Ideal PT setup for this I think would be:
BLM/WHM x2 (Need to always have 1 on the look out for GoH, while other rests.)
WHM (or RDM/WHM with decent MP pool.)
1x support job (BRD, RDM, COR)
    NIN/WAR
DD possibly another NIN to co-tank (avoid DRK and BLU, magic will agro eles)
Everyone need’s to bring RR to save of mages MP in case they die.

Above setup for this is optimal, if you have that and camp in the tunnel behind him I don’t think you should have too much trouble, the fight is very hard though (comparatively to other Assaults.) Fire resist builds are good for tanks and DD if posible, plus barfira. BLMs can help Curaga after the many AoE attacks.

Nope I meant Bowman's, just missed that post and it hasn't been put on the wiki (at least not under the mask's page). Thanks.

    Re: Tier10 Assault

I'm not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, however while going through my screenshots folder I noticed something weird about the clones from our last Bloody Rondo run: our taru PLD switched a couple pieces of gear right after entering the assault (I'm fairly sure he had Valor on while we were waiting at the gate) and one of the most noticeable changes was going from Valor body to Ares, something I don't recall him ever swapping out (I don't remember him covering anyone either by the way, not even once).

    http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/7716/count1wg8.jpg

Well, apparently (as showed in the screenshot above) the doppelgangers spawned by the Count during the course of the fight were also wearing AFv2 instead of Ares Cuirass which was sorta odd, has anyone else noticed something similar? If we could determine the moment your gear gets "scan'ned" (I'd wager either upon zoning in or while engaging/doing an action that puts your character on the hate list) we could also prevent the clones from being fully geared just by unequipping everything, which would make dealing with them 10x easier, especially if the wrong person gets accidentally duplicated (happened to my WAR in a few occasions and he promptly proceeded to single handedly wipe the entire PT :( ).

Hmm, clone are very easy to deal with lol. They die so fast, and hit kinda weak. That said, it would still help a bit if they didnt have any weapon and no armor >_>

    Re: Tier10 Assault

    Finished Tier 10s today

Cerb we tried the zerg option someone else posted to do on here, except we went MNK/NINx2, WAR/NIN(Ridill E.Body), BRD/WHM, RDM/DRK, WHM/BLM. We had our BRD 2hr Min+Mad us and Ballad the mages then we went in, popped elementals straight away so had BRD train them till the depopped, RDM popped chainspell stun as all our melee 2hr'd, roared again and depopped the elementals pretty fast, then it was just a simple fight for the remainder.

King Goldemar SMN is a blessing in, thanks to Dream Shroud blocking out Cackle's magic defense down, went as PLD/NIN, MNK/NIN, BRD/WHM, WHM/BLM, RDM/WHM, SMN/WHM. Would have the PLD/NIN kite Goldemar with gravity stuck on it whenever it summoned a weapon then me and the MNK would take them down one by one, pretty easy fight.

Hope some of that information could help someone! Now its time to do Lebros Supplies, tried one today but quite a few retarded mistakes and when we thought we finished we hadn't, guess someone forgot to fill someone

Visible gear other than weaponry has no effect upon the Doppelganger. I've had a Vistani doppelganger pop on me wearing hecatomb when he used it while I was WSing and the doppelganger did not attack really slowly. Also when I got doppelganged wearing fortitude axe the doppelganger did not have virtue stones, or just had really, really horrible luck.

Regarding Cerebrus: (only assault left I need)

Havent even attempted yet, just wanting to confirm some good strategys for it.

    1) Zerg. brd 2hrs, 3-4 melees 2hr, someone watches GoH, and the 6th(probably the brd) trys to kite the ele's during zerg proccess,

    2) Goto NE tunnel and have non magic casters only tanking Cerb. Have a blm to take out a couple ele's if aggro with a thun4 > thu3, another stunner should be there to for GoH.

I also see JPs shouting for multiple SMNs for this to, anyone know whats up with that?

    Re: Tier10 Assault

We did pretty well with something like method 1. NIN DRK DRG RDM/DRK WHM BRD. BRD 2hours (with Nightengale/Troubadour), applies buffs. Melee start in on Cerb (I think the DRG 2houred at some point) while the mages go to the NE tunnel. We had our RDM kite the elementals when they popped, since he has w.legs, and the DRK watch for GoH. Worked pretty nicely.

What are people's opinions on holding Khimaira's moblin versus killing it? We were going to go like this:

    PLD/NIN WHM/BLM BRD/WHM NIN/DRK DRG DRK

Have the PLD, DRG, and DRK work on Khimaira while the NIN/DRK held the Moblin and stunned it if it tried to use Goblin Dice. Does it use Goblin Dice anyway, without feeding it TP? Which moves (if any) does Khimaira need to be dice'd into using, and can it use those freely if you just kill the moblin?

Our DRK does have a kclub, but judging from how the 3x Ridill group did, that sounds pretty suicidal. Khimaira is our group's last FL to tackle.

I'd imagine you could very easily just take him to the NE corner tunnel, stand the smns off up the tunnel somewhere and just keep sending avatars at him.

Just wanted to chip in with; got Captin tonight. :D
    Yay, go me. Thanks to everyone that came! Expect some kind of new Captin inspired sig soon. >_>;
    Previously, had horrid luck with King and Cerb, lost more times than I'll admit to, but today went 1/1 on both fights. O.o;

    Re: Tier10 Assault

My static kind of put these off, we tried our first one tonight Blood Rondo which I chose because it didn't sound too difficult. Did we have the worst luck EVER or do I need to totally rearrange our setup? We wiped with him at ~98% thanks to doing I'manasshole Kiss every 5 seconds, we also got 3 Doppelgangers in the course of about 5 minutes before we wiped I think. Only loss we ever had before was with Egg Conservation treating it like Blitzkrieg (obvious mistake) and SL fishing thing when it first came out so losing so terribly to this one is kind of shocking x.x. We used RDM(Has SMN NIN WAR DRG) PLD(has WAR BLM) SAM(has THF) BST COR(has NIN RNG), the melee backed off so I could rest but I couldn't keep the PLD up and he got Bloodraked when I was converting; we don't have access to an FL WHM, only one in our LS does Nyzul. Adding a BRD(has RDM NIN THF) to our setup before we try again tomorrow, if anyone has advice for me it would be much appreciated. Thanks~

    Re: Tier10 Assault

Bloody Rondo didn't seem too bad to me. We went, NIN, WAR, SAM, BRD, WHM, RDM. NIN died right off the bat cause doppleganger owned him. I kited until he got up and we killed pretty easy after that, NIN died again near end but I tanked last 5% or so, got a little lucky with an intimidation as I casted Ichi. Only benefit ever to having Exorcist Hose on cause I dont have B.HAidate yet.. lol

    Re: Tier10 Assault

We went...RDM WHM BRD DRG NIN DRK, I believe, with the DRG and DRK subbing NIN in case the NIN got charmed (which she did, twice, but I easily slept her with Horde and we just kept going). I believe a DRK doppelganger is what killed our DRK once, but that was the only severe difficulty. We haven't fought Khimaira yet, but I'd say Bloody Rondo was the 2nd easiest for us, next to Hydra (which we just did RDM BRD DRG NIN). For both this one and The Price Is Right, I handed out holy waters to all the DDs and the tank (and our PLD/NIN destroyed every last one by sacrificing them to paralyze on Goldemar...I should have charged him), but we used no other meds. I will say that it is nice to have a Storm Fife and a RDM for oodles of MP.
