    Completely random discovery

Some people may have seen this mysterious red dot (one time I think I saw it green once before) randomly in Dynamis - Jeuno at an intersection between front of palace and path leading to AH (this pic is like 2 years old).
    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...337/RedDot.jpg
Awhile later I noticed these white-blue dots in the same location, that would spin around in a sorta circle pattern whenever any bard sang a March song (Around a year ago).
    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...LightRing1.jpg
I talked to some people about this, most thought I was crazy, some other claimed to have seen it, I didn't really think much of it and just passed it off as a random glitch.

Then today was camping Aspi, went out for claim and while scanning around I saw the same white-blue dots swirl around at a random point on the ground when one of my bards in ally sang a march. We went back after the window and pinpointed the dots (Xagashi is roughly standing on the location of the dots).

Silvin is another bard in my LS who was out of ally, the same dots appear for him whenever he sang a march. The dots were more intense when Victory March was sang instead of Advancing March. Also upon closer inspection, the dots sort of move around in a biohazard symbol pattern, and the more people in the party march hits, the more sets of dots that seem to move around.

We also saw this happen when elegy was sung
    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...yDarkRing1.jpg
    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...yDarkRing2.jpg

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...yDarkRing5.jpg
Same pattern just darker color, again carnage elegy had sort of thicker dots than battlefield elegy, both were exact same spot. We tried pretty much every other song but only elegy and march had this happening.

We check the map to see where this was occuring, maybe it was like the center of map or something
    http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/maps_norma...row-valley.jpg

It was in the very dead dead center of H-8, sorta the centerish of the map, I checked jeuno map
    http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/maps_norma...de-gardens.jpg
also what seems to be the exact dead center of H-8.

Now we are thinking maybe this happens in every zone, Silvin ran out to port jeuno and tried there, he claims to have spotted the dots in J-8, some other people saw them and said they appeared no matter Silvin sang in the zone.

Anyone else see anything like this?

I have a feeling that these dots are related to crop circles, Yetis, and the Bermuda Triangle...

You can see the dots in the location of my second screenshot in regular Ru'lude Gardens if you got a brd.

After more closer inspection the pattern for victory and advancing march is different

Saw the red dot last night @ dyna-jeuno, just thought it was some crazy glitch. Reminds me of the dots in the mine with the ghosts when the sirens go off.

in dyna-jeuno, the red one often seems to mimic weaponskills~ you can see the trail effects of multihit WSs

there was a thread about this before once.

pretty sure it's at 0,0,0 (origin) in the zone?

correct. this has been posted about before, including the instance in VoS. i'm not sure if anyone's defined the exact interplay between brd songs and the animation of the dot, however, so that may be new. i think the WS bit was known before though.

    Re: Completely random discovery

It is probably just some sort of glitch, they have tons of them in WoW my personally favorite is being able to fall under one of the major citys and travel underneath over 3 different zones before reaching a barrier lol.
