Yea im kinda concerned about these 2 jobs too.I'm only concerned for THF and BLU to be honest.
No. This is what they needed to match Ridills and BBs.
No. A lot of this seems unfair right now, but maybe this was really planned.
I'm a mage, I don't really give a shit.
Yes. I don't see a major problem here, but they'll probably do something to make WS damage less dramatic.
Yes. The WS adjustment and STR to Att conversion should have been enough. The pDIF and DEX:acc changes are far too much.

my apologies on one part.. I read it wrong, but even with colibri camps, blms probably still get more merit invites in mana burns than thfs for tp burnsOriginally Posted by Turambar

Actually, after FF11, when replaying other FFs, I have learned to love blink.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike

I think the new 2hander fix is just fine, it's just going to take time for some people to get used to the shift in power of some jobs. I have SAM, NIN, RNG, and BLU all 75 so I'm a 2hander, 1hander, ranged attacker, and user of blue magic and I personally love the fix. In no way do I feel that my non-2hander jobs have been shafted by the fix and I still plan on playing them just as equally as I did before the update.
I think it is wonderful that I can go out and merit on Drg for once and not be the last one picked. I feel for the people that feel they got smacked by this buff, but honestly most of you probably play them for Epeen and having to take a back seat to getting any gear I wanted on my Drg has dulled my sympathy a little on the subject. I think it is a welcome boost to those of us that lvled a job because we liked it for what it symbolized and not for what it necessarily could do. If SE comes back and changes something that puts Drg back on the bench...so be it, but till then I am going to enjoy it. The great thing about FF is that you can level all the jobs up on a single character. I am sure there are a bunch of sams running around right now in dunes. I was in the semi process of lvling sam to 60 myself. When I do finish merits up a little more I might just take it the distance.
I am sure SE has something planned that will balance this out more in some way. The time that 2hs get to own till then is more then fair to make up for the times we took the bench. I am sure it will always be cycles between the jobs. Just the way it goes.
You aren't going to see them (edit: AH 2hd vs. dual-wield parses) because one person said they killed a lesser colibri naked and did huge damage, so now everyone is just regurgitating this information and translating it into what they want to believe. Ever played the telephone game as a kid?![]()
The melee balance was never "balanced" to begin with. 2 handed weapons should have never been eclipsed by someone dual wielding B-level weapons. I do agree the DEX to ACC change is a bit much, but STR to attack and whatever that pDIF crap is should stay the way it is.
Yeah, because bombs are not the same thing as patches.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus

In the Monk Nerf thread http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewt...hp?f=2&t=22731 a friend of mine posted screenshots of himself doing the same damage NAKED as he did in FULL GEAR. What he didn't say was that a GM was sitting there watching him and chatting with him the whole time. What he also didnt say was that the GM was amazed, confused and very appologetic.
SE fucked up. They now know they fucked up. Lets just hope they fix it soon.

Blah, with the crap they pulled in China and Kor-....I think we're going off topic.
I'd like to parse but I can't, DvsParse seems to have been broken by the update.
I think that guy's point was something like "If this is meant to be supplemented by something in WotG, why didn't they just wait until WotG, instead of purposefully creating an imbalance?" Yes, not having to worry about acc and being able to push to the edges of the attack cap as a consequence IS an imbalance, however you want to slice it. DRG, DRK, & SAM weren't THAT bad pre-patch, and while WAR & MNK may not be that bad now, all it did was switch shit around. That doesn't FIX anything.
If you're looking for a parse showing a 2her smashing a previously elite DD, look at Ruke's recent parses against Lhexh, where he averaged 264 a swing and on the whole did 40% more damage than before.
Spoiler: a well-played Samano was already stronger than ridill war in merit.
But hey, at least my BLM has a +1 int grip and my MNK has a +2 mnd grip for chi.
Ruke was always smashing people and his gear isn't AH by any stretch of imagination. He's ruke. I don't think people are whining that somebody with impeccable gear and a relic can smash face... I'm talking average AH 2hers beating pimped 1hers.Originally Posted by aurik
I skimmed this shit, so prolly missed alot; The numbers I hear about seem outrageuos and maybe SE over did it. I haven't seen those kind of numbers on my SAM yet though. My SAM is pretty decked, I had 63+64 STR with Dual SV Mins and food I had 700+ Atk and Mad/Mar for KV last night. I did 3.9k damage(4.4k if you add in Light dmg), like 6 WSs for around 700 each. High was 800+, low was 550 or so. I didn't see 1.2ks, 2.3ks and shit like that so maybe my SAM is broke or people are pulling bullshit numbers out their ass.
(Unless that is pwn damage for SAM on KV, I always use MNK and my WSs are the same and the WARs hit 1k with Rampages)
I do have to say. LOL@ at the guy who is telling me to use Staff on MNK. If MNKs switch to Staff, that only proves they broke it and it needs to be fixed.
On level 40ish mobs, I just equipped kirin's pole on MNK, every swing was 219 dmg, crits included, and a 300% full swing landed for 1575.
Still punching for 126 and 189 crits.
I dunno, maybe with a primate +1 and some gear changes staff would work.
The overall patch effect is crazy and I've stated why, but there are aspects people are bitching about that don't make sense.
Staff isn't better than HTH by any stretch of the imagination, Full Swing has a great fTP at 300% but a shitty one below that and a shitty WSC compared to DK, which had its already good 300% fTP boosted. MNK/THF isn't exactly overused, but its fun and efficient in the right situation, and now its better than before.
Staff isn't better for anything.
Also, the insane focus on "doing the same dmg naked" on too weak is ridiculous. Prepatch Spharai on TW did 108-163 with avg 136 and 176-204 crits, 197 avg. Now it does 136 always and 204 always (excluding triples here, so same avg normal, better avg crits). The 2.0 pdif cap does cause a nerf when ratio is high but not high enough for pdif to always be 2.0, however this is in no way proven by any quoting of damage against TW crap. Your damage on TW was the same with gear vs naked pre-patch too, you're attacking shit with no defense, that's perfectly normal.
Also, Primate (and even the weaker Kirin's Pole) did more per hit than Spharai prepatch, now it does slightly better because of the 3.0 pdif cap but why does this matter? The dmg/delay is ass, the WS are ass.
