A slow jam is typically a song with an R&B-influenced melody. Slow jams are commonly R&B ballads or just down-tempo songs. The term is most commonly reserved for songs with heavily emotional or romantic lyrical content.

But yah, I agree. The most common ones are R&B, but I didn't wanna narrow it down to just one genre.
