If I could bet you I would, the only team that has a chance to beat them before the bowl game is OU in the big 12 championship.

Freeman is fantastic, if Jordy Nelson weren't graduating I'd say for certain they'd be contenders next season, and both would likely end up competing for the heisman. Someone will have to step way up in Jordy's place for that to happen though.

They would be very much in the hunt this year if not for the game at Auburn, which was to some extent a fluke but mostly just an inexperienced team playing on the road at as hard a place to play as any in the opening game. If they were a "3rd" option though they'd surely get snubbed due to the rest of the schedule, but fuckin a no matter what the rest looks like it would be awfully damn hard to argue against an undefeated team with wins AT Auburn AND Texas. (and probably another vs OU on neutral ground)


But yeah, next year (and the year after maybe, he's a soph) Freeman will be absolutely amazing if the other wideouts step up, and he'll be coming out of most likely a 13-1 or 12-2 season as a sophomore including 2 extremely tough road games where he won one, and the big 12 championship which we don't know yet. Not only that but he came in as a freshman into a system with a new coach for the first time in about 20 years, where the old coach had the stadium renamed after him literally the day he retired. For the new coach to even begin to think about playing a freshman qb, that says a lot. But it says even more because there was an established pretty damn good developing quarterback already, and he took his job in a matter of weeks. I can't even fathom the kind of pressure he's already dealt with, and he's just coming into his prime.

Watch out I tell ya, the Cats are comin back.

Careful, your "Cats" have only beaten Texas 2 years in a row. This is the Texas that w/o Vince has stumbled numerous times and is constantly overrated.

K-State still has to come to Lincoln, which by that time in the season will be a huge showdown game for 1-3 reasons:

1. Nebraska beats Mizzou and takes control of their own destiny AND K-State doesn't fall to obscurity (like they usually do).
2. Nebraska faulters at Mizzou and plays mediocre the rest of the year setting up a upset bid Nov. 10th when K-State comes to town.
3. K-State is a 1-hit wonder and plays .500 ball before coming to Lincoln and tries to salvage its season with a upset bid over the Cornhuskers. (Much like Colorado has to do each year)

As much as I try to stay as neutral on my opinions of what could happen, I still have to say lolK-State.
