Probably because it's South Florida.Originally Posted by Grunge7

Frankly, South Florida is probably lucky that probably no one saw their last game. A team that barely beats Florida Atlantic shouldn't be the #5 team in the country.
I think they're more like #8-10 range.
Yeah I ask this because I go to USF. After reading some of the responses here I looked at the ESPN message boards and a lot of people don't like or hate USF. I don't care either way because football is so ridiculous each week that teams who you think would be awesome finally get a test and can't do anything. I just hope that we win the Big East. I doubt even going undefeated will get us to a national championship because of what you said. Schools with history will get chosen even though they have losses.
I think though that it's important to win games, and a lot of teams haven't so maybe that says something about the focus of the undefeated teams. Who knows though. I'm not going to be bashing anyone else's team and saying USF will kick their ass because I don't know because we probably won't play them. We'll see what happens.
Besides UF and UM being a complete letdown at this point, (well given UF did go against LSU, who I think will win the championship this year), UCF and USF are still solid teams. USF had like two highlight games, and they get thrown into the top 10. UCF is solid, regardless of both of their records, their programs are starting to develop FAST. And have you ever been to UCF? Jesus fuck that place is amazing. I would of gone there if I wasn't stuck at NSU.Originally Posted by Grunge7

USF #5 oh yeah all i have to say is i'm glad,
God damn boise state think you humiliated them enough?![]()
I went to UCF for the game last year against them, but I've never been on the campus. I know USF plays UCF this saturday which I'm worried about like every game, but UCF doesn't seem that good. I was impressed when they almost beat Texas, but Texas' defense during that game was horrible and I could see how they've lost two already. Also, I didn't see it but saw the score, they completely got smashed by ECU who we beat last year at our bowl game. I don't know I hope we win, but if we do I'd hold off saying UCF is rising quickly. Nobody is better than UF in Florida, regardless of rank.
I dont hate USF or anything, I was even routing them on when they were playing WVU. I just think it's ridiculous how far and fast they've propelled to the top of the rankings. I don't like the reasoning behind some of the voters, but I'm sure two prime time national television upset wins didn't hurt.Originally Posted by Grunge7

KU and MU both undefeated, KU having a signature road win as underdogs, and neither team reaches top 10, KU barely reaches top 20.
It's ridiculous, really, but if you're not Oklahoma, or in the SEC, Pac-10, Big 10, or from Florida or Texas, the pollsters aren't even paying attention to you.
I was watching the USF/FAU game with a guy who is good friends with FAU's punter (or something like that) - we were yelling "Go Fighting Owls" really loud in this sports bar. It was great...too bad FAU lost![]()

and maybe a couple more times to lol at
The announcers are pretty stupid.
Fuck man, I'd go to UCF just to be at their stadium.
This week's picks and today's USA today spread
Purdue (+5) at Michigan
Wisconsin (+6.5) at Penn State
Illinois (-3.5) at Iowa
Oregon State (+14) at California
LSU (-9.5) at Kentucky
Auburn (+3) at Arkansas
Texas A&M (+8) at Texas Tech
Missouri (+10.5) at Oklahoma
Colorado (+6) at Kansas State (points tiebreaker)
Central Floria (+12) at South Florida
As an Oregon State alum and season ticket holder, it pains me to say I'll be putting my confidence level in Cal as a 10.

Jesus, Wisconsin is a 6.5 point underdog to Penn State?
...Penn State doesn't run a spread/option offense do they? (Jesus I hope not)
Michigan only being a 5 point favorite surprises me. Purdue has never played well in Ann Arbor in my lifetime. (never won there in my lifetime either) If I actually didn't feel wrong on betting against my team, I'd put a lot of money on Michigan to cover. I guess the oddsmakers ignore history and still think of Appalachian State.
FSU @ Wake on Thursday. Now everyone will get to see if X.Lee is working or not :<
