I'll flat out say right now that if Texas or Oklahoma beats the Missouri/Kansas winner in the Big XII Championship that I don't feel West Virginia deserves to go to the championship comparing them to all the other 1-loss teams. (and they likely will if that scenario plays out in the Big XII)

I agree. Same if LSU loses and one of the Big 12 teams survives. If Arizona State wins out they should jump OSU and WVU and play for the national championship. If they don't, I still think OSU should jump WVU.

Can you imagine if LSU were to lose AND none of the Big 12 teams win out? That'd mix some serious shit up.

as sad as I hate typing it Im pretty sure LSU will end up national champions. Tenn. will go to the SEC championship against them if they win against kentucky and I doubt Tenn will be able to stop LSU. Hopefully Kansas has the team to pull out a miracle and go all the way. I hate LSU.

I want to see Kansas beat Mizzou and then win the Big XII and go to the National Title against hopefully LSU. I would have liked to see Oregon, but that's over and done with now that Dixon is gone. Would've been a great game. Oklahoma is gone. Mizzou or Kansas will be gone by next week.. and yeah. We could very well see OSU back in the National Title picture. I don't want to see WVU either, but I do think they are pretty well matched up against LSU. Then again, LSU can stop a spread offense, unlike Michigan and such. LSU had to deal with Tebow the beast too, lol.

Either way, this college football season is full of parody and has totally turned what I thought about football upside down.

Bill Snyder and Frank Beamer built programs out of nothing by scheduling cupcakes every year. Unless you are competing for a National Title, there is almost no benefit to schedule tough non-conference games. The system doesn't reward you enough for playing a tough schedule in terms of getting in a lower tier bowl game. If they would have BCS standings that go 1-50 (or however many bowl teams there are this year), and a non-biased bowl committee picked the top 50 teams (similar to how they use RPI for basketball) heavily weighted on the expanded BCS standings, there would be more of a reason to schedule tougher non conference games. The fact is that a team could play 4 ranked teams in the non conference, go 5-6, have maybe 2-3 wins over a ranked team and another team could go 6-5, play 4 cupcakes, and not beat a ranked team. The 6-5 team will make a bowl even though the 5-6 team would likely be better.

Kansas State first game of the year opponents since 2001 (all except this year scheduled by Snyder)

2001: @USC
2002: scrub shit, but USC @K-state in game 4
2003: Cal, in the BCA game
2004: Scrubs
2005: scrubs in game one, @ Marshal game 2, North Texas game 3 (Scheduled when North Texas and Marshall were looking like they would become legitimate contenders)
2006: scrubgs game 1-2, games 3 and 4 are Marshal and Louisville
2007: @Auburn

Nebraska has had ND, USC (last 2 years), UCLA, Tennesee, and Virgina Tech in this decade and into the 2010s scheduled. It just so happens that we are the down team atm, but I can't fault the scheduling of wimps, those are some quality home/home games.

I agree he scheduled tougher teams after he was heavily criticized for scheduling cupcakes by the media in the late 90s, but here is more so the time period I was talking about where he built them to what seemed to be their peak under him.
