Yeah, it's kinda surprising and sad really. Mangino is definitely a defensive coach, and prior to this year he was very much building a quality program out of nothing by putting a national contender quality defense on the field nearly every game even if he was using like 5 qb's per game and all were utter trash.

Assuming Oklahoma beats Missouri (which is sort of a big assumption since Missouri will be #1; but their loss was to Oklahoma earlier this year), I'd say a West Virginia / Ohio State Championship would be interesting based on WVU's rushing offense vs. Ohio State's great defense.

I still think that none of the teams between Missouri, West Virginia, and Ohio State are the best team in the nation this year and may have all lost 2-3 games if they were in the SEC....or maybe it is just due to nobody being a dominant team.

It's not a huge assumption...at least in my opinion. After all, OU is the team that gave Missouri their one loss earlier this year (in Oklahoma). There's a lot of emotional factors goin into this game too though that could be important. It's a revenge game for Missouri and they're playing for a national championship shot. However, at the same time Oklahoma could still possibly be playing for a national championship shot too if WVU loses and OU wins big. I think OU fans will be the majority of fans in the stadium giving them homefield advantage. But I could be wrong since I don't really know if Missouri fans travel well. Lotta immesurables factoring in this game, so I think it's a coin flip.

And I don't really think there is a best team in the nation this year. Everyone seemed sub-par and took a week off when they really shouldn't have.

Heck, even with their 3 losses I still think Florida is as good as any team in the country and I would still pick them if they play Ohio State, West Virginia or Missouri...

Honestly, if Ohio State, Missouri, or Kansas were tossed into the SEC, they'd prolly be clawing just to remain in the low-end of the top 25. Would put more of the natural SEC teams in the top 25 if those four and a few others were put into conferences where they were actually challenged.

Yeah it seems like us not going to the SEC championship is the safe bet. But I'd rather win the SEC championship (or even have the chance) than win a BCS bowl that isn't the national championship. Thats bigger bragging rights to me.

As far as I'm concerned, the winner of the SEC championship should always get an automatic bid to the national title game and the other slot should go to the next best team. It sucks when you play in such a difficult league and lose a game or two to amazing teams (UGA, Tenn, UF, Kentucky, LSU, etc) and you get bypassed for great bowls by teams like Kansas/Mizzuo/Hawaii who don't play anyone great all year long.

The BCS system is flawed either way... who is to say Hawaii isn't the best team in the country, they are the only undefeated team afterall. Because they play in the WAC, they don't really have a chance unless everyone loses at least 2 games.

Well that's just it. Sometimes I think you should give a bowl game berth to a team like a 6-6 Alabama (Yes, they have some horrid losses this year, but that's Saban's problem) even with their record over say.. a 8-4 Northern Illinois or whatever. Bowl games get a lot out of it and it's all about the team of course as well. Ya don't want a shitty bowl game with Northern Illinois and Southwest Northern State College Tech U or someshit.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing both LSU and Georgia in one of the main 4 Bowls. I PERSONALLY want to see Georgia v. Hawaii play. D: I like cruel, unusual punishment. So sue me.

This is very likely as long as LSU wins the SEC championship. Don't worry, the only team ranked #7 or higher in the BCS that gets fucked out of a game is the '06 Wisconsin team.

Yeah.. but didn't they only beat Arkansas by 3 or something? Arkansas was okay, but their passing game was horrible, so they were really one dimensional. Either way, I do agree with them getting snubbed. No worse snub than Auburn in '04. Probably the worst snub of them all, tbh.
