Well, if Kansas or Virginia Tech jumps to #2, then Georgia should be good to go for the Rose Bowl. (unless they take LSU?)

They can't take LSU, who is the SEC champ. They could take Georgia if Kansas or VT is #2, but I really don't think they will. The Rose Bowl isn't technically a part of the BCS, it's a business partner with the Big 10 and the Pac 10, and they've always made a point of trying to maintain "tradition" by pitting Big 10 vs. Pac-10. Given the chance, they will almost always take a second place team from the conference if they can, and a variety of interviews on the subject I've heard this year from Rose Bowl officials have given credence to this theory. However, if there's ever a year to put this to the test, it's this one, however.Originally Posted by archibaldcrane

Hawaii making a comeback.
Wow @ the Hawaii - Wash game, Locker showing he can throw it pretty well.
Damn that was a close pass at the end. Thought it was a TD at first.
lolollol wow washington almost came back to tie it
So did I. Not Locker's fault at all. This game may hurt Hawaii's BCS chances, honestly. If people are looking for a reason to downgrade them, they just got taken to the last second by the last place team in the Pac-10.Originally Posted by Ishido

To put it in perspective though, Hawaii came back from 28-7 to win 28-35. That was one hell of a second half.Originally Posted by LAGUNA

Yeah. It was a crazy second half for Hawaii. What amazed me was just how good Colt Brennan looked. I mean.. he was 42-50 for 433 yards and 5 TDs. He was also sacked 5 times so he took his lumps. Seriously though, he played great. That's 84% completion for you non-math-doers.Hell, his WR he threw to all night.. Rivers I think it was had 14 catches for 165 yards and 4 TDs. That's just crazy. I hope they get into a BCS bowl game. They definitely deserve it.

Looks like Ohio State and LSU is on their way....
God dammit. Everyone knows Ohio State isn't the #1 team in the country. They just had a easy schedule and didn't play in the last two weeks. Whoever is ranked #2 is going to beat the shit out of OSU just like last year. The fuckin BCS once again sucks but we won't see a change because its all about the $. Damnit
neil callaway gets a vote? wtf we're like 1-10.Originally Posted by octopus

LSU is not that impressive from what I saw at the game yesterday.
I think GA would be a better team to play OSU but them not being in the SEC Championship really killed their National Title hope.
If it wasn't for 1check, 2check, throw Ainge would of fucking won that game. I was in the endzone that they ran back the INT for a TD. I didn't even know they fuckin intercepted it because I was staring at the man going across the middle WIDE FUCKIN OPEN but yet Ainge is a retard and now I am home and pissed.
I saw that. Was like.. LOL WHAT?Originally Posted by octopus
Also, I agree with the Ainge is a retard statement.
Why is everyone bagging on LSU, they won the SEC championship without their starting QB and the best defensive player in the country. They lost 2 games, both in triple overtime. If anyone should be out of the championship, it's ohio state and their overrated defense that couldn't hold a spread offense to save their lives. Cheers to beating Washington on the road, great win! That's awesome.![]()
I understand that I may be a little bias towards UGA but as long as an SEC team goes and destroys Ohio State for the second time in two years then I will be happy. Apparently everybody forgot about how well Ohio State did last year and wants to see another blow out. The LSU team from the first half of the season is the best team in the nation this year. But they have been beaten up so much over the last few weeks that its hard to still say they are the best team in the nation (Glen Dorsey, Matt Flynn, the RB I can't remember). Sure they've lost only two games but into multiple overtimes but when was there last huge win? A blowout over a highly ranked team?
I think if you look at who the best team is now then UGA wins. With a 6 game win streak, a fully healthy team, huge wins over Auburn, Florida, Kentucky (LSU barely edged by Auburn and Florida and lost to Kentucky) its clear that UGA, at this point in time, is a better team. It sucks having lost the tiebreaker to Tennessee and not representing in the conference championship and that will probably wash our title hopes down the drain.
One more thing... what really sucks is that Ohio State hasn't played in two weeks AND didn't play a conference championship and they will move up while UGA gets jumped by LSU AND OU. Does anyone really think Ohio State is really that good? Its hard to make that statement when you lose to Illinois at HOME and your biggest win of the season is against Michigan at home.
I have always hated LSU, probably because Im and Alabama fan, and student of the UA system(UAB but I cheer on both since they are related schools I'd cheer on UAH but I don't think they have a football team).Originally Posted by Tyche

Let's look at the USA Today poll (one of the two used in the BCS formula).
VT was ranked #5. They beat #12 Boston College by 14 points.
LSU was ranked #7. They beat #15 Tennesee by 7 points.
Now, let's see. LSU jumps idle Kansas (#5) and idle Georgia (#4) with their close win against a ranked opponent.
VT jumps...oh wait, VT jumps absolutely nobody, even though they won more impressively against a higher ranked opponent. Not only that, VT also gets jumped by LSU.
Looks like the pro-LSU press/announcer blitzkreig has done it's job. The voters who said last week that VT was better than LSU now think LSU is better than VT, despite...VT winning bigger against a higher ranked opponent.
What?
In my opinion, there is no such thing as a "legitimate argument" for a 2-loss team to be playing for the national championship. I don't care that it's the SEC. I don't care that it was two triple-overtime games. Don't lose two games if you want to be in the national championship. I'd rather see fucking Hawaii play OSU or Kansas.
Maybe it's just me.
Also, everyone keeps crying about there being no Big-10 conference championship. What do you want OSU to do, murder Michigan again? They just beat the #2 Big-10 team - you saw it happen. LSU should be thanking it's lucky fucking stars there was an SEC championship game, it's the only thing that is giving them a chance, for the 3rd time, to be the #1 team in the country - since they blew it the last two times.
Maybe OSU you can beat an SEC team in a bowl, or have a better schedule than 75th in the nation. Or maybe they can win a game against a spread offense. Please, don't bring up michigan as a quality win, without that "M" on their helmet, they wouldn't be in the top 40. If VT didn't get lit up by 40 fucking points by LSU, they'd have an argument. Kansas...lol. The only legit complaint is from Georgia.
Way to counter points I didn't make.
