In that case, mission accomplished. I like to be an asshole at least once a month.Originally Posted by Maguspk
Correction: mplayer w/ libass (as mentioned) or Perian+Quicktime (googling Perian should pull this up)
Perian for QuickTime is slightly more elegant, because then everything also works in Front Row.Originally Posted by octopus
Quicktime :/
It works pretty well. Playback in QuickTime is flawless for H.264 MKV softsubbed files. However, subtitles are currently broken in Leopard Front Row with Perian. Joy.Originally Posted by Charismatic
I don't think I've said Holy Shit so much while watching any anime. Episode 15 was fucking epic.
Yes, yes it was.Originally Posted by Maguspk

Ya this is pissing me off, just finished 18 and I fucking hate Rossiu. What the fuck this little bitch is full of himself. Anti-spirals? What the fuck. This is like death note, a bunch of shit happens and just makes me angry.
I thought the second half was better in overall. It wasnt perfect, but they managed to make me care about more than 1-2 characters, unlike the first half where almost every character were totally useless.
Ep 26 is definitively my favorite. The music..the whole scene...it was so epic.
Starting 26 right now.
My thoughts are this:
It's pretty predictable so far you know, if you can't do something just transform into something bigger duh. Ganmen piloting other Ganmen, piloting other Ganmen is just sillyness lol. But it's still pretty epic and enjoyable even if it's kind of lame that they just keep doing the whole DBZ style "SSJ? SSJ2? SSJ3? lol SSJ4" progression.
Also, Yoko is a fucking whore. First Kamina, now this random dude with blonde hair who's name I can't even think of even though he died seconds ago. I think I secretly just want her to be all over Simon and not these other random jackasses.
Oh ya, fucking Boota evolving into human form and having all that anomalous spiral energy was a big wtf moment. Pretty awesome.
edit: Episode 26 is weird, the flashbacks are so confusing. Like Yoko's flashback, she has the ring Simon gave to Nia on her hand as if like in her alternate universe she wished Simon had proposed to her or something. Also, Viral became one of my favorite characters when it showed him with his beastman wife and kid haha, he's actually a softy.
His name is Kittan, and he is awesome D: Kiiiing kiitan gigaaaas drilllllllu breaker
Predictable? There is some stufft that are predictable, but it's not like you can predict everything. I doubt many people saw what would come in ep7 or 17, and you have no idea who will be alive or not at the end of the series. The anime follow some cliché, but that's what made it awesome. They kept the explanation to the most simple form.
Oh ya it was just lame how they just got bigger/stronger.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Just finished the series and it sucks that Nia dies and Simon just goes all rogue. The final fight was pretty epic though, fighting on the galaxies and shit. I'm pleased with how everything turned out even though Simon kind of got the short end of the stick losing the one he loved![]()
Yeah, it wasnt exactly the ending I was hoping for. Wasnt bad, but why give us a sad ending when everything is over? It's not like Nia dissapearing change anything at that point, especially when they never hinted she would if she was saved. Meaningful deaths like Kittan or Kamina are awesome, but Nia...dunno
The mecha size would be lame if it was in any other anime, but the way they made it was awesome. From a tiny drill found under the ground to a galactic sized drill that is figthing between dimension, there is something epic about that. They didn't went out of their way to find an explanation either, mecha powered by your attitude.
I also really liked how they explained the spiral power in the last few episodes. How DNA is like the most basic spiral and the spiral evolution is what makes the Spiral beings s powerful and stuff. That was really well done, I was hoping they'd tie it all together somehow that kind of made sense besides "OMFG this drill has amazing power!" and they did.
Yeah, I thought for sure after Kamina went tits up (see what I did there?) that yoko would be all over Simon but......then I was glad she wasn't. To many times in any series once one love interest dies someone moves on to the next, the 'people are pissy because kamina died' thread played out nicely.
One of the themes of the series was everything kept evolving and expanding on itself, which is why they kept going SSJ^2 everytime something new happened; but the reasons where better than DBZ. At least I liked them better, instead of "enemy X has appeared, we must be stronger to defeat it" it was more of a natural progression.
And I agree on the ending. The shear anticlimactic nature of what happened to Simon almost destroyed the ending for me, but after I while I looked at it like the end to evangelion(no not the movie) or the end to FF9, a definite end that leaves no 'what if' possibility for many / all of the main characters, that not only made sense but didn't leave you wanting more like say.........Nadesico. GOD DAMN I hate nadesico for its ending.
Every anime should have the fanservice bonus episode. I dont care if it make no sense, I want the happy ending. D:
I don't think Nia actually "dies" at the end. <_>
What other conclusion could you possibly have come to?
Unless you're being nitpick on the meaning of "dies", I would like to know how you would describe what happened to her.Originally Posted by Kiro
Yoko should have been all over Simon's dick after Nia disappeared and her ring literally fell at Yoko's feet. I mean seriously, all the girls cream themselves over Kamina who is just all talk and then Simon is like busting out raw power and owning every thing in his fucking path and nobody even takes a second look. In fact, they doubt him a majority of the time and treat him like shit.
Do the movies take place after the story or during it? I want more and maybe a chance at some sort of more fulfilling ending.
