Thought it was a good little twist, that later on it becomes clear that Kamina was all piss and vinegar, but it was Simon's Lagann providing the Spiral amplifier that gave Kamina such great shielding against weapons, inertia and self-repair to do the absolutely retarded tricks that actually worked. Everyone thinks "Kamina, is so great! Kamina can do anything!", then Kamina flies solo and gets WTFpwned by a simple attack that Gurren-Lagann under the Spiral shielding of Lagann would have shrugged off.

Why is it everybody calls gurren lagann "GAR" I don't think half the people who use the word understand what it means. From what I've read it means "you'd be gay for them but only because their so manly" or something. So why do I see things like "omg Gurren Lagann is so GAR" or "Simon in his GAR outfit". Is this some gurren lagann related thing or is it just coincidence that all the people who upload videos on youtube for gurren laggan just happen to love to use the word "gar"?

Yeah, you have the right meaning for GAR... although a lot of people don't and misuse it because they either don't care or don't know what it means.

Probably the best one yet, a total reversal of the final battle of Episode 8. Brings back all the right memories. Simon's part was hi-fucking-larious.

'Libera Me from Hell' better be the most epic though, the whole project is a failure otherwise.

I know this series has been out for a while, but I just got around to watching it all after a friend recommended it to me, and I have to say, that was easily one of the best action animes I've seen in a very long time. It's already been discussed enough in this topic, so I won't really go into details about why it was so awesome, but I would definitely recommend this series to anyone wanting action.

I haven't seen any myself, but I believe that since it's a totally different universe as the original, it won't destroy any epicness. For instance Mai Otome didn't have any effect (at least not negative...) on what I thought about Mai Hime, and it's essentially the same concept (same characters but a completely different universe/plot). I do need to watch some of the extras though, Gurren lagann was win.

They're simply random 4-5 minute mini stories set in parallel worlds each done by a different director, set to a piece of music from Gurren. They have nothing to do with the main storyline.
