I'm posting a couple more parsers since I used all day to merit before we get Monday's fix.


- First one in Mount Zhaoyulm, with lots of PLD Trolls in there too, anyway setup was:

WHM who didn't Haste, and not because lack of MP at all.
BRD x2 - March x2, Minuet x2.
NIN - Perdu/crit., AF2, AF+1, Torque, Gorget, heavy haste setup, Jin str/dex build, merited, Sole Sushi. (Hasted)
WAR - Man/Joy, Haidate, Acc/Att setup, Rampage setup, merited, Coeurl Sub. (No Hasted)
DRK/SAM - Algol, Adaberk, Haste +14, Pole Strap, STR ws setup, merited, Red Curry, Hasso 95% time, used Dread Spikes many times, Souleater a few WS only. (No Hasted)

- Second one, long party on middle Bird camp. Setup was:

RDM - Haste for the WAR only due to MP issues, Dia III on the birds and me ._.
BRD - March + Minuet
WAR - AH, No Haste setup, weak Rampage setup, probably just getting merits, no Food. (Hasted)
SAM 1 - Hagun, Pole strap, Hauby, AF2, AF+1, STR ws setup, merited, kabobs, Hasso full time. (No Haste)
SAM 2 - Hagun, Pole strap, heavy Store TP setup, STR ws setup, merited, kabobs, Hasso full time. (No Haste)
DRK/SAM - Same as above, but with Coeurl Subs, Hasso full time, Souleater a few WS only. (No Haste)

Note about this party, i barely managed to pass this SAM after so many fights, thanks to abusing of Souleater towards the last fights and that himself Shikikoyo me like every time it was up (didn't know him, but cool jp guy), and i wasn't very lucky either WS wise, quite a few misses, and only a Triple Attack procedure on WS, not many DA WS either.

I had my first merit party since the patch last night. It was not nearly as bad as I has feared.

The party was at the North Mamool Ja camp.

THF/NIN (Me) w/Mandau
SAM/NIN
WAR/NIN w/ great axe
RDM/WHM
WHM/BLM
PLD/WAR

For the first 2 hours I though I was getting owned by the SAM and WAR. I was seeing constant 2K Gekko and 2K Steel Cyclone.
At some point our RDM got killed by an add and I used that opportunity to download the new DVSparse. I was afraid to load it up because I didn't want to know how badly I was losing.

We killed 47 more mobs before disbanding so it was a small parse, but with suprising results. (BTW, how do I get the parse results to export as a jpg?)

Me 37%
SAM 28%
WAR 27%
PLD 8%

I don't know if they were supposed to be elite in their jobs or not, but I outdamaged them in both melee and ws damage.

It makes me feel a little better about the patch. Those 2K+ WS look impressive, but they just don't add up. I wouldn't mind losing to a super SAM, but it is good to know that I can still beat an average one, even when it is on mobs that aren't weak to daggers.

If the SAM and WAR weren't really good geared and merited, then it is a given that you had the upper hand (since you have relic i assume you have appropiate gear of the same level).

And to get the images, you have to export the .html, open it and then take a screenshot, go to PS (or Paint or w/e you have) paste, cut and save.

This may be the case that they didn't have great gear. What I had feared was that a noob SAM with 50K worth of gear was going to be blowing me away. That just isn't the case though. If a fully merited SAM with top notch gear can outparse me (by a little), I have no problem with that.

I had all columns selected and did the export option. When I loaded the .html, there were only about 6 columns shown with a lot of the important ones missing. I assumed people somehow saving a .jpg from the main screen. How do I get the .html export to show the columns I have selected? I feel like I am missing something simple.

looking like gekko is gonna be capping out around 1.1k w/o double attack now (100/200tp) as opposed to 1400ish before today; da could bump it up to maybe 1.7k tops. So yeah, no more 2k+ madness and overall gonna see lower averages.

Running some really rough math based on the new damage dealy (and not knowing how guillo has really been affected), the head to head with me and ryko looks more like 53% him, 46% me. That's very acceptable in my book.

Also 1handers function strong again at higher atk, and crits exist again for the 2h. Will be interesting to see what they really did with penta/guillo, but all in all things are looking to be really balanced now.

I would very much like to see how balanced it is in a meat/dual vs. meat/2h parse. Anything else is just apples to oranges imo.

What parser is that with the blue background, and where do I get it? So far today I've ran 2 parsers using FFXI Parser and both showed errors after a while and shut down the parser, no idea why. Was 2 MNKs (1 BB), NIN, RDM, me (DRK/WAR) and NIN at Birds camp, since people asked me to parse there. I tied #1 with the BB MNK, Houdini from Titan, but I need a parser that doesn't fuck up every 10 minutes so I can actually show the results here.

Unless the MNK's name was Houdini, and it was on Titan, and every single circumstance was exactly the same, I don't know how the 2 situations are related. You parsed equal to a nameless BB MNK on another server, great. What does that have to do with me?

Nah, I messed around with GS too, and changed from Perdue to Tred. Before that I was beating him by about 3-4% the first time, then the parser crashed.

Oh and the funny thing is I used 0 Haste. Left all my Dusk in the MG and just used straight Attack/STR gear. You know, how "dinosaurs" do just for the hell of it. I'll host a pic of what I had on in a sec.

Next time we parsed the same but the parser only stayed up maybe 15 minutes, then it crashed again. No idea why, that's why I asked for the other parser.

What's weird to me is, there is only 1 parser in this entire thread showing SAM outparsing another job by a wide margin....your parser....yet "SAM is god". When people bring this up, it's "oh, those SAMs weren't as good/didn't have the same gear as Ryko, etc." which might be a good point but 1 parser doesn't prove anything. Me outparsing 1 BB MNK/WAR doesn't mean DRK is superior to MNK any more than 1 SAM outparsing a DRK/WAR means "SAM is god".

You're not gonna get 2k steel cyclones without 200/300 tp(200 with martial), so the war lost a lot of potential damage if that's all he was doing.

You have someone making a party. You have two jobs that do roughly the same damage. One has Utsusemi (because dual wield helps them) the other doesn't (because they use a 2H weapon) Who is going to get the invite?...

It was a fun two weeks while it lasted.
