I voted yes, on the condition that it's original, interesting and doesn't fall into the typical Fanfic trap; being where the author tries way to hard to make it overly epic.... like having the climax be something like Prishe, Lion, Nashmeira, Tenzen, Zeid, Aldo, Volker, Trion, Shantotto, Tenzen, Ulmia, Gilgamesh, Luzaf, Odin, Naja and Maat teaming up to take out Kam'lanaut - who has possessed Promathia's soul and fused his body with Alexander - to ready his ultimate weaponskill - Wheel of Radiant Divine Meteor Blade.

Actually, I would read that as long as it had a twist that Maat was actually Kam'lanaut's father and is in fact the estranged 3rd sibling to Altana and Promathia.

Daahan, do you have any samples of previous fanfic (or not) writing that we could base our answer on? I mean, a good writer can make pretty much any subject interesting, and a bad writer can destroy pretty much any subject with equal ease. So, the fact that it is a fanfic doesn't matter at all to me, but whether I enjoy your style of writing does. Just a thought.

you guys are thinking I'll be writing cliche, old-fashioned FFXI fanfic, but it's going to be different.

First, the story will basically be an expansion that never happened or will happen. The manner in which I will write it will be like you are reading through a Mission Story line (already mentioned this. I already have a greatly, greatly detailed idea of what the story will be about. It's something I've thought through a lot, and if there still weren't a few missing pieces I would begin writing it.

Also, I won't say too much about it, but since I'll be posting it on these forums and for these forums, you'll see some familiar things. No, I'm not going to incorporate things like Sage Sundi WUT and FFxiflux in to it, but it will be definetly something that regular forum goers will enjoy.

Also, I'm going to examine the poll for a few days more and decide whether or not I'll follow through with this. If I did, i wouldn't be releasing chapters weekly. I work and go to school, so I wouldn't have time to do that, but my goal would be to release a chapter every 2-4 weeks.

This fanfic will be particular to you guys and myself. It is a forum based initiative. Perhaps it's hard to understand what I'm saying, but if I go through with it you'll understand what I'm talking about.

An excerpt from tomorrow's update

Septimus quietly walked up the narrow pass to reach the top of Zegham Hill. There under the noon-day Gustaberg sun he saw Iron Eater and Zeid wrestling. Sweat glistened off of their titanic galkan frames, shaped by years of intense combat training. The summer sun necessitated them to remove their armor, first shirts, then gloves and boots, and then pants leaving them in nothing but their subligaria.

Septimus watched silently for several minutes until Iron Eater finally pinned Zeid to the ground. While Zeid was pinned, he looked over and saw their visitor and gasped in surprise. The two Galkas tried to quickly right themselves.

"Don't mind me," Septimus coyly said, "I was merely admiring the view."

Both of the Galkas blushed. Iron Eater ran his beefy fingers through his hair and asked "so what brings an adventurer such as yourself up here?"

"I heard you two were sparring up here," Septimus responding smirking. He pulled out several flasks of Olive Oil and grinned, "let's make this interesting."

I hope no one takes this seriously...
