wivre hide drop rate?

need to make one of these shields and don't feel like paying overinflated prices. anyone know the drop rate?

Got 3-4 in about 7 mobs, with 1 TH3, so I'd say pretty good.

Just got out of a trio/4 man (had a TH3 Thf come out about half way through) earlier tonight of Wivres with Blu, Brd, and Rdm.

Out of roughly 40 kills, we ended up with 0 hides... <.<

Mostly posting to see if anyone else has noticed a majorly decreased droprate when fighting the Wivres from the sides. Did this to bypass their guarding, and towards the end of the night, we came up with the idea that perhaps fighting on the side might "damage the hide" or something, similar to breaking a Marid's tusks, or an Imp's horn for it to be able to drop.

After checking somepage, here, wiki, KI, and even alla, we couldn't really find any other details. Any chance anyone has some input about them? Planning on trying to fight them from the front to see if the droprate changes tomorrow night, ran out of time tonight.

You might have something there.

We had me on one side, and another WAR on the other, and the THF just SA or SATA whoever didn't have hate, so noone was to the side of them, and our drop rate was, well, pretty good.

Mine was absolutely horrible. We killed about 15 with BLM/THF (lol), BLM RDM without any drops. Switched to a full merit style party including a THF main, 1 hide in about 2 hours.

i know on marids you have to bust the tusks off to get them to drop (i think.) i don't know what the trigger is for it (crits or what) and i don't know if it affects its fighting ability (rarely fight them) so i don't think i can be too helpful on that. iirc, you need to break an imp's horn for it to drop that too.
