10k is right. Probably right on the dot, too.

We need theories for Cactrot Rapido now?Does anyone have any idea (even an approximation) as to what his max HP is? I have a theory...![]()
Anyhow, in the times I've killed him, 1/4 or so on bow seems about right :/ Then again, like any NM, you'll have some people 1/1 and other people 0/54. Just hope you don't pick the stubby straw![]()
It is definitely about 10k HP, just to further confirm.
Sounds about right...Originally Posted by RKenshin

Maybe record an entire fight and just watch the log and time everything that way....
I think poison is a static time on a mob if landed. I may be wrong though. Ifi t's true, then you could just count how many poisonIIs you landed and multiply it by the length it lasts.Originally Posted by Koga
Yeah the above post is right. Rapido crosses past the Dune Widow spawn area once every few minutes. Grab a Sabotender and wait.
You could always just ninja tank it and SMN BP it and add up the damage.
I've killed it multiple times with my LS on a zerg back a year or two ago, and it parsed out to 10k HP.
My "Theory" was that 2-3 Samurais could rape him with 2hr + meditate + Icarus Wings, probably could sub WAR with Siegan and do this quite easily before the maintenance. 10k doesn't seem too bad at all. Any comments?
3 SAM and hope it doesn't 10k needles. Don't see why it wouldn't be doable.
I'm sure it's possible but you risk a wipe with 10k needles. Problem with SAM only damage is controlling the TP moves. Whenever we kill it, we use THF damage (TA weapon skill onto NIN) + DoT (Poison II and Bio II) but that's coupled with Absorb-TP. It's a relatively quick kill (10-15 mins) once it links. You could get lucky but I'm not so sure it would work every time.
He has a few different TP moves if I remember correctly, and 10,000 isn't the most common. 1,000 needles, photosynthesis (regen?), needle shot (absorbed by third eye seigan?). If done correctly, I think it would be a fairly low chance of failure.
All TP > 300%, wait for med / berserk timers.
Sam 1 Yuki > Med, Sam 2 Gekko > Med, Sam 3 Kasha > Med, Sam 1 Yuki > TP Wing, Sam 2 Gekko > TP Wing, Sam 3 Kasha > TP Wing, 2 Hour and repeat light chain solo. Or Darkness rather, I think he's weak to ice, but that's the general idea. could probably be done with 2..
Or just get on DRK and 2h kraken it to death haha, can do it either way, with different 2hrs, only thing you need to worry about is 10k needles, so good luck with that!
I always just did that fight NIN RDM SMN. The NIN never got hit, so we always ended the fight without even seeing a TP move (TP-less SMN BPs being the only damage).
There are BP's that dont give tp!? I prefer the dot method NIN RDM BRD; we kill in about 15-17 minutes normally.Originally Posted by Kaelia

The entire point of SAMing it to death was speed and virtually no TP gain so it doesn't get the chance, and if it does, only one chance at all, to use 10k needles.
Yeah let's throw a DRK at it so it can use it about 50 times. SMRT.
after seeing this bugger run around me for 4 hours while soloing on my 37rdm i can say he doesn't de-spawn during fire weather(wiki wrong) and i parked my mule in the aforementioned spot and he does pass about every 10 minutes. BTW he is still up on Bahamut as of 21:51 MST.
Predator Claws won't give a mob TP. The only potential issue was Cactrot turning on Garuda and getting TP that way.Originally Posted by Minions
Sure as hell seems to give TP on khimara when it uses 3 tp moves in 20seconds after 6 or so bloodpacts v_v
I used twice that many on Cactrot and it didn't do a thing.Oddly enough, I've read from one person on these forums that Khimaira is where they truly noticed the "TP-free" factor. Perhaps it makes a difference if the SMN uses Assault first, allowing the avatar a regular melee hit or two, which may give TP (to be honest, that much I'm not sure of -- I didn't allow my avatar regular melee hits on Cactrot). At any rate, TP was never an issue. Getting the drop is another story.
