Reposting /b/ stuff on here is bad enough but if you start reposting /y/ stuff onto here...Originally Posted by Nirokun!

Besides, what *we're* really doing is laughing at Anonymous, and making fun of a sociopathic collective identity is all good, right?
Wow I looked at some of the An Hero links, the Chris Benoit one is horrible.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Going to ED and expecting not to see something horrible is a sure way to be disappointed.
Even for Encyclopedia Dramatica I think that one is pretty bad, though admittedly I did laugh at alot of the pictures.Originally Posted by Charla

Sorry, /a/ is fail. Although I am a /b/tard, /b/ sucks right now. In fact, /b/'s sucked for a while, possibly since the Habbo Hotel raid of July 2006 (nevar forget). But every once in a while, a magical thing happens, where a good thread appears. And that's why I still go. Because there will always be that ray of light, deep in the pits of hell.Originally Posted by Priran
/b/ is about memes, but its also about original content. The problem is is that in order for original content to exist, one of two conditions need to be fulfilled:
A) Something happens. An Hero is a perfect example. A poem about a kid who killed himself over an iPod occured somewhere off /b/. While the H is silent in words like "hour", its not in "hero" making the usage of "an" stupid. However, while things are always happening, it usually won't get attention.
B) Somebody has to make it happen. MS Paint Relationship threads are chock full of original content, however, somebody has to actually make it. Many /b/tards are too lazy to actually make something.
However, it is a rule. Any original content can and often will become a meme. And any original content that becomes a meme is instantly old. However, a meme is fine too.
I see what you did thar.Originally Posted by Metah

people who've been on 4chan long enough to have a place saying 4chan does or does not suck don't speak in memes and overblown hubris.Originally Posted by Metah
recent /b/ memes are some of the most awful shit I've ever seen (chocolate rain is just "omg funny youtube vidya", the nothing is inherently funny about black parade lyrics, etc) and raids are poor excuses for newfags to feel like they're "us" instead of "them". I have a working theory that no one actually finds the new memes funny, they post them because they think other people find them funny, and then laugh out of groupthink.
/a/ and /v/ are on par with old /b/. if you'd actually been around for old /b/, you'd know it didn't mean "good", it meant that the threads were actually discussion and the memes were actually funny.
I was gonna post something about the article....but I don't think that would be appropriate. Carry on
