    Re: Drg 2hr, 50% haste?

I have a feeling the actual delay value would turn out to be 301 (i.e. rounded up after every percentage calculation), a total of ~24% increase in attack speed. Not quite as good as a full 25% Haste, but nothing to scoff at either.
    However,

    With Marches+Haste+Spirit Surge+Hasso

    396 Delay 78% Haste = Rndup(87.12) = 88
    Rounded up (385[-3% delay reduction]) 75% Haste = Rndup(96.25) = 97
or about 75.5% Haste. Or did I miss something.

The numbers are all right. I'm not sure what you're asking here. My calculations were just to show how the -delay and +haste aren't really the same thing.

    Re: Drg 2hr, 50% haste?

Not sure if the exact haste from SS has been stated already in this thread, but it appears to be 25%. I just confirmed this with recast time on Reraise going from 60s to 45s with SS active and zero haste gear on. I think that previous tests have concluded that SS haste goes toward equip haste cap and does not exceed it, and if that's the case, then haste gear is completely wasted while SS is in use. That would open up slots for STR/ATT/ACC gear instead of haste (Wyrm Belt over Swift Belt, Dusk Trousers over Homam Cosciales, etc).

I'll make another video on the next zerg fight that my LS does. I think we've got a Kirin planned for tonight.

I think it is previously proven that SS does not go toward the gear cap. It only stays at the magic cap. In other words, drg probably won't need soulvoice march x 2 when they are zerging, only need about 18.3% from either song or spell to reach the magic haste cap at 43.3%. You will still want to get as much haste as possible from your gear.

Just stating that the Sword Strap can pretty much be scoffed at while zerging.

I think I understand now, but have a few questions. So if you're already getting Haste Spell + 2x SV March, then you are already at the 43.3% magic cap? And if SS goes toward the magic cap without exceeding it, then it's basically wasted if you are already getting haste + 2x SV march? I normally have 18% in gear (I borrowed the other 4% from LS mates for the video), so my own personal cap would be 71.3? With the diminishing returns from Sword Strap, Pole Strap seems to be the obvious choice then.

Unless a strap is added that gives +3% Haste, you're wrong. Equipping the sword strap doesn't affect your Haste cap. It just lowers the delay on which the Haste is based. It's not a matter of 78% Haste vs. 75% Haste + 3% delay. It's 78% Haste + 3% delay.

    396 Delay weapon -3% strap = 385.
78.3% max Haste + Hasso is calculated based on the modified delay of 385.
    385 * (1-0.783) = 84 (rounded)

All I was trying to show originally is that Haste +78 plus Delay -3 isn't the same as Haste +81%.

Of course, it may well be that the Sword Strap still sucks for zerging, so let's take a look at that. Its main competition here would be the Pole Strap. 2% Double Attack of Pole Strap is 1 DA round every 50 swings. With 396 Delay and 78.3% Haste, you'd get 50 attack rounds in 71.6 seconds. Thus, on average, 1 extra swing every 71.6 seconds. With the -3% delay and 78.3% Haste, you'd get 51 attack rounds in the same 71.6 seconds.

Of course, with higher chances to Double Attack (Brutal Earring, Valkyrie's Fork, Askar Korazin, Pole Strap = +11% DA), the Pole Strap would probably pull ahead slightly in the end.

here's a parse from January when I had my first mele zerg style kirin.

at the time I was in 14% haste gear I believe.
so yes drg can be very effective in zerg fights besides simply using angon.

Would it be possible to post an extended video? This would prove whether or not SS can go beyond the haste cap. Since songs last longer than SS, the vid could look like this:
~1 min swinging with capped haste (songs + gear + Hasso)
~1 min swinging with capped haste (obviously the same haste as the previous minute) + SS

This 2 min vid would make it clear whether or not SS results in faster swinging even at capped haste.

And thank you for taking the time to test this, I have minimal haste gear so far and I never imagined I might be able to swing that fast some day. :D
