    Car Audio Problem

Ok, so a couple weeks ago I go to start my car to grab something for lunch and my car doesn't start. Got AAA to jump it, drove home, car died again in my driveway. Tried starting again, no dice. Went and got a new battery, installed it, car works fine, no big deal. So I'm driving to work the following day and I try turning the radio on and no sound comes out. The radio starts up like normal, I see the indicator lights coming on showing that the stereo sound is working, but no output from the speakers. Tried playing a CD, and I hear it spin up, but again no audio. I talked to some drone at best buy about it yesterday and he said it might be the fuser and to bring the car in so he can find out for sure. Now, I can change a tire and a car battery, but when it comes to inner workings of a car like this I'm completely in the dark. I'd rather not pay best buy to fix my car if it's something I can easily do myself. Any advice would be welcome, thanks.

its not hard but if you dont know what you're doing its not ideal to do, they shouldnt charge you too much to do it as its a simple process, in fact id goto a car store (like advanced auto) or something instead of best buy as they're more likely to tell you what you need AND install it for free

Fuses are easy. Do you have the manual for your car? Almost all owner's manuals come with a reference diagram for your fuses, and the fuses are usually located either in the cabin, below the steering wheel (US-made cars) or inside the engine bay, against one of the firewall (Japanese cars).

If you don't have the manual go here http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm and find your car. FYI it's an amazing resource if you ever need to fix something on your car and don't want to pay $30 for a Haynes manual or $100 for the shop manual from the dealer.

It's a good idea to grab a flashlight when you check fuses, as it can sometimes be tough to see if they're blown (the little copper wire in the plastic part on top that connects the two poles of the fuse will be broken) but shine a flashlight at it and it's often easier to see.

New cars often come with a few spare fuses, and you can go buy new ones at places like Autozone or Pep Boys for a few cents each.
