    Vid Card question

    Hi.

I just got FF situated on my PC. Relatively new to gaming on my PC, and wanted to ask a question.

My current fps is really low - about 5-6 in a heavily crowded area. I'm thinking a new vid card will help greatly with this. I currently have the on-board card in there (Intel G965 Express Chipset Family is what its called, I believe)

EDIT: The PC itself is fairly new. I got it less than a year ago. Its using a Dual core 2 duo processor, if that helps at all.

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good/decent one to use that will help with my fps? Or if its not solely the vid card that will help with it, what exactly can I do to get the game to run more smooth.

    Many thanks in advance.

nVidia vs ATI debate GO! lol.

In all seriousness, you don't need a ridiculous GPU to have good FPS in FFXI. What are your PC/mobo specs? Can you use PCI Express x 16? AGP? etc.

Any card with hardware TnL caps should suffice, FFXI is 90% processor dependant. Memory helps too.
