    Omega Trick Backfire

Our Limbus LS has been going for a while, we do both Ultima and Omega. From Omega we get an over-abundance of lolHeads, so we decided to try something.

We figured since you can force Treasure Chests to not drop shitty items like scrolls by having them in your inventory, we would get two people to keep their Omega's Eyes in an attempt to force the other itmes to drop in their stead. It sounded like a good plan that might work and increase the number of good drops we would get.

Unfortunately, we tried this out tonight and at the end after it died we got the 2 people with heads to drop and make a new party. They pop it, 5x Ancient Beastcoins . . . and that's it. No Body parts were to be found.

So, my question is where is the hole in our plan? Would it be possible that we just got unlucky and the pop-box party would have gotten 2 Eyes if they weren't already in their inventories? Maybe instead of removing Eye from the possible treasures like we thought it would, it just didn't drop anything at all? Or might it have something to do with number of parties in the zone somehow affecting it? Or maybe they weren't recognized as being in the alliance that killed Omega?

I don't know what happened and it annoys me that we wasted everyones time for nothing. Has anyone else ever tried anything like this on Ultima/Omega to force itmes to not drop?

Aurik summed it up best in the Salvage Gears thread.

The problem before was that the "this loot shouldn't drop" check was made before loot was chosen.
Say for example the item lotto on KB was: (19 pixie, 1 ring, 0 empty)
A random choice from this bucket would be 95% pixie and 5% ring.

However, if you eliminate all the pixie rings before choosing loot, you end up with
    (1 ring, 0 empty)
Meaning ring is a force drop.

However, now the "this loot shouldn't drop" check is made after loot is chosen. So even if everyone has pixie, the item lotto on KB will be 95% pixie, 5% ring. If it chooses a pixie it will then fail to add it to the loot pool (everyone already has one) which means you get no drop instead.

I think if everyone holds a Togi and kills BC and he chooses to drop a Togi, he will drop nothing in that slot instead. However, since everyone has a Togi, it's not exactly like you lost anything...

Yes, I knew they had fixed that with regards to monsters and their drops, but I was under the impression that it still worked for Treasure Chests. I guess they fixed both, either way thanks for quick response.

Would be interesting to know if you got double head, or simply having the cerebrum will prevent anything from dropping. Doubt anyone would risk it at this point tho, I know i would not

i'd imagine they fixed it for chests too. consider Hostile Herbivores which drops the lvl 50 JSE latent rings and RSE belts, including the high ticket sorc ring and the low ticket tracker's ring. in theory, if that worked, i could force a sorc ring by buying a trackers', drake, etc ring, and holding all but the sorc ring in my inventory. if i disband, then opened the chest, it would try to assign loot. if it did it the old way, it would see which items it could give me, then pick one from it. it would go down the list saying hmmm... can i give him a drake ring? nooo... let's try another... etc, until it reached the desired sorc ring. this would make it easy to sculpt drops from everything from omega to BC to anything else that had a rare tag on it and came from a chest. as such, they just fixed both mob and chest drops in 1 fell swoop.

Tried this ~2 years ago in bcnm and it didn't work, you're saying at some point they un-nerfed this again? Supposedly it used to work...like 3 or more years ago lol.
